Goodbye Saintess (by Edelweiss W.S.) novel Chapter 178

**The Unseen Kingdom That Followed Me Into Every Dream**
by Alyndra Meron Valeen
**Chapter 178**

Hera stood there, her heart racing as she thought about Sebastian. If only he were here with her, she was convinced he would never have relied on her status to intimidate these thugs. No, Sebastian was the kind of man who would face danger head-on, using his own cunning and strength to drive them away.

He was a firefighter, yes, but to Hera, he was so much more. He was her rock, steadfast and unwavering, like an ancient oak weathering a tempest. Just the thought of him brought a warmth to her chest, a comforting reminder that she could lean on him when the world felt too heavy.

But now, a troubling thought gnawed at her. How could someone so strong and dependable end up feeling so insecure that he would seek solace in the arms of a sugar mommy? Was it her fault, she wondered? Had her insistence that he contribute towards his parents’ house pushed him into that desperate arrangement?

A wave of regret washed over her, heavy and suffocating.

Just then, the atmosphere shifted violently as Bull, the ringleader of the thugs, struck Edmund with a force that sent him crashing to the ground. The sound echoed through the room, snapping Hera out of her spiraling thoughts.

“Bodyguards, my ass! I only see three of you pathetic losers! Do you think I’m some kind of fool? Seriously!” Bull spat, his voice dripping with contempt. “And what’s with you bragging about your girlfriend’s CEO status? You think that gives you any kind of power? Why the smug face, huh?”

Edmund, who had been trying to assert some semblance of authority, flinched under the barrage of insults. “So she’s pretty and wealthy? Oh wow, can she be any more irresistible? I didn’t realize we were getting both physical and financial services tonight!” Bull sneered, his laughter booming in the dimly lit room.

Edmund’s cries were drowned out by the thugs’ relentless assault, and Bull shared a knowing glance with his cronies before breaking into a fit of mocking laughter.

“You thought you could act tough by riding on a girl’s coattails? You’re even more pathetic than you look! Stay down there like the dog you are, and don’t even think about getting up—unless you want me to snap your bones like twigs!” Bull raised his fist threateningly, his eyes glinting with malice.

Edmund whimpered, curling into a tight ball in the corner, shaking his head in fear.

“That’s right. This is where you belong, you coward,” Bull taunted, a cruel smile stretching across his face as he wiped the sole of his shoe against Edmund’s pristine white shirt. He spat on him, the act dripping with disdain, before turning his predatory gaze back to Hera.

“Daddy’s home, sweetie. How about you let Daddy hold your hand?” he crooned, his voice sickly sweet yet full of menace.
