Goodbye Saintess (by Edelweiss W.S.) novel Chapter 56

A young man with the most unremarkable appearance stepped out of the Uber. He looked so out of place that it was hard to believe he belonged in this affluent neighborhood.

This is him? That Sebastian?!James’s fury surged as he stormed toward the young man. Oy, you! Sebastian!

I saw a middleaged man marching toward me, shouting my name. On instinct, I answered, Hello?

The man sneered, So it really is you? Listen, punk. I don’t care what your angle is, but stay away from my daughter. She’s way out of your dirtcating league, you scumbag. I don’t even know who gave you the delusion that you belong anywhere near the Caniens!

His voice echoed through the quiet neighborhood under the night sky.

Aman sitting in a black car near the Canien estate flinched and glanced toward their direction.

Recognition flickered in his eyes, and he immediately grabbed his phone.

Mr. Goldman, I’ve got something. I just saw Mr. Grimwaldhe’s standing at the Canien estate’s gate!he reported.

Baron yanked himself away from the arms of a naked young woman. Keep eyes on him! I’m on my way!

Just an hour earlier, Baron had confirmed it: Sebastian Grimwald wasn’t his parentsbiological son. He was adopted. The adoption records matched the sparse details his superior had provided.

Baron was convinced. This was the princeling he’d been chasing all along. And he had nearly let him slip awayalmost stole his girl, nearly got him injured through his own men.

Thank God I think fast and move faster,he had muttered at the time.

But regret had gnawed at him. He hadn’t asked the young man to stay or even gotten his contact number. If Sebastian vanished again, there might be no second chance.

Baron had immediately deployed every available man to track Sebastian, focusing on the places he might appear. The Canien estate topped the list.

The gamble had worked. Sebastian was there.

I’m fucking blessed! I’m winning!Baron shouted gleefully. All I have to do is butter him up and stick to him like glue, and I’ll ride this wave to the top!

Then the call crackled with his subordinate’s voice.

Sir? Sir. We’ve got a situation. Rhea’s father came out andis tearing into him. They’re about to argue. Maybe fight.

Baron’s shout shot up an octave. What?! Keep your eyes on him and don’t let him out of your sight! And that softbrained idiot! If he lays a finger on Mr. Grimwald, I’ll fucking end him!

Understood, sir!

The line went dead. Baron bolted out of the hotel room.

Nobody liked being ambushed with insults. I was no exception.

Frowning, I asked, Are you Rhea’s father?

No shit I am!James bellowed. So stay the hell away from my daughter!
