Goodbye Saintess (by Edelweiss W.S.) novel Chapter 76

“Your brother, the so-called genius, has managed to stir up quite a storm in such a short span, sweetheart,” Howard remarked with a dry nod. “He went after Mr. Grimwald’s girlfriend and even ordered our security team to rough him up. I gave him a solid beating myself, but honestly, I got tired halfway through. Now, he’s all yours, Miley.”

Ezra sprang up abruptly, his eyes blazing with indignation. “Excuse me? Are you seriously trying to sabotage this marriage, Howard? My sister is here now, and yet you’re still backing him? You’re such a toa—”

“Enough!” Miley’s voice cut through the tension like a knife as she suddenly slapped Ezra hard across the face.

Her long, perfectly manicured nails left angry, bloody scratches on his cheek.

“You just keep getting worse by the minute!” she snapped, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and disappointment. “I’ve put up with all your nonsense for far too long, but this—this is beyond the line. I won’t stand for you bullying Mr. Grimwald of all people!”

The room fell into an uneasy silence.

Ezra blinked, stunned by her words.

“You’re… you’re taking his side over mine?” he stammered, disbelief thick in his voice.

“His side?” Miley’s voice rose sharply. “He saved my life!” Without warning, she slammed her foot down hard on Ezra’s stomach.

He doubled over, gasping in pain.

“He saved my son’s life too,” she continued fiercely. “Do you know our parents pray for his safety every single week in church? That’s how important he is to us. The entire family respects him—except you, who can’t seem to grasp that. And you even harassed his girlfriend?!” Her voice thundered through the room.

“Not a chance,” she scoffed. “You were absolutely right. Even if he complains to our parents, they’d tear him apart before siding with him. He’s clueless—a total embarrassment.”

Miley’s mind raced as the reality settled in. She had clearly spoiled Ezra far too much. Perhaps that was why he believed he could torment her savior without facing any repercussions.

“Howard, darling,” she said softly, her tone sincere, “I was the one who enabled him. That was my mistake. I’m sorry. From now on, unless it’s a matter of life and death, I won’t cover for him anymore. He needs to face the consequences if he’s ever going to learn.”

Howard hadn’t anticipated this sudden change, but he welcomed it wholeheartedly. “Perfect. That’s exactly what he needs. Now, enough about him. Come meet Mr. Grimwald and his girlfriend.”

They approached me, gratitude shining in their eyes. “Thank you, Mr. Grimwald. You’ve changed our lives for the better—once again.”
