Goodbye Saintess (by Edelweiss W.S.) novel Chapter 90

Chapter 90

Baron saw this as an extraordinary opening. Not only did it offer him the chance to become Sebastian’s business partner, but it also presented an opportunity to deepen his connection with the influential Grimwald family.

Sebastian had already demonstrated an innate talent for business, clearly destined for remarkable success. With Baron’s support, that ascent could be significantly hastened. Once Sebastian began accumulating achievements, the Grimwald family would surely summon him back to Enbarr without delay.

Baron was absolutely certain Sebastian was the future heir. After all, the head of the Grimwald family was effectively the ruler of Enbarr.

Not long ago, Baron would have never imagined he’d have the privilege to know someone like that, much less sit across the table from him. Yet, there Sebastian was, calm and composed. If destiny had ever reached out to Baron, this was the moment it called out the loudest and sweetest.

Breaking the silence, I asked, “When does the Forum start?”

Baron’s behavior struck me as odd. Sure, I had saved him from a significant financial setback and revealed my true abilities in the process. But was that really enough to make a grown man visibly uncomfortable in his seat?

Baron Inc. was a well-established, prominent company. Meanwhile, my own business existed more as an idea than a reality. What kind of impression could I possibly make on his behalf?

“It should begin soon,” Baron replied. “All our prospective clients are already gathered upstairs in the conference room on the 20th floor. Come on.”

With a dramatic flourish, he opened the door and gestured for me to follow. His deference was so overt that I found myself unexpectedly touched. “Thanks, but you didn’t have to go to such lengths.”

I understood his reasons for bringing me along. Of course, he wanted me to assess the clients’ proposals, but it was also his way of helping me forge important connections.

But Baron was undeterred.

“Let’s just learn from each other, alright?” I suggested. “I don’t think I’m qualified to be your tutor.”

“No, no! You’re more than qualified, Mr. Grimwald! I truly mean it!”

We stepped into the elevator and rode up to the Forum’s floor. After Baron pointed out the conference room, he hurried off to make the final preparations.

I paused at the bathroom first, needing a moment to gather my thoughts and steady myself before facing what lay ahead.
