He’s an Alpha She doesn’t Care novel Chapter 87

Jared

He walked into his walk-in the next morning and stopped at the suits hung up in there, and a smile not only touched his lips, he chuckled softly to himself. “Oh, so that’s why you were out shopping, baby.” He murmured to himself, as he walked over and slid them apart one at a time, to really look at the suits for himself. Then he checked the brand and shook his head. He didn’t think Wynta was willing to pay for something like them, they weren’t exactly cheap.

He thought about that and let his mind wonder to everything else he’d learned and seen yesterday as well, and then just chuckled and checked the size of them. They would all actually fit him.

It did appear to him that Tallah’s secret was out for Wynta to know, and that the fox within her wanted to play. So, Tallah had helped Wynta. He mind-linked to Dwane, ‘Hey come check out what your soon-to-be woman did to my walk-in.’

‘What are you talking about?’ Dwane asked right back, sounding more than confused.

‘Just come here to my walk-in, you’ll see.’ He cut the link and checked the brands and price` tag for those suits with his phone, gave a low whistle, it definitely wasn’t Wynta paying for them. He didn’t see her spending a little over 10 grand on suits just to play with him. She’d find that a waste of money, had told him she was just going to sell that dress she’d been wearing to the Luna Ceremony, to get her money back.

Dwane strolled into the room where Jared was still standing in the walk-in, a towel around his waist fresh from the shower. He just pointed to the suits in his walk-in. He watched Dwane walk over and come to a halt in the doorway, then snorted, fully amused as he laid eyes upon them.

“Hey, I think you’d look good in that pink one.” Dwane pulled it from the rack and held it up to him. “Yep, I was right.” He smiled but then put it back on the rack before turning to look at Jared. There was still amusement in his eyes. “So, why is this Tallah’s doing?” Dwane asked.

“Wynta wouldn’t spend over 10 grand just to annoy me, she might not even have that kind of money saved up, and if she did, do you really think she’d waste it on suits for me?”

“Probably not.” Dwane nodded in agreement.

“Tallah, on the other hand, would have a pack card, and seeing as who her father is, it would be with unlimited funds… Those two are in cahoots with each other now.”

He watched Dwane think about it and nod slowly. “Thinking about it like that, with the new information, Tallah being what we believe to be an Alpha’s daughter, it would seem that they are in on it.” Dwane chuckled softly. “What are you going to do about it? You know Wynta’s just downstairs as well.”

“Hmm,” he did know that, and she was likely giggling away to herself, wondering when he was going to see this, her little payback. It hadn’t escaped his notice she’d gotten many of the same colors that he’d left inside her wardrobe. “She didn’t arc up over my touching her wardrobe, so…” Jared mused aloud, as he looked at those suits in there “Guess I’ll play her game of I don’t care, and I look good in them.” He recalled the way she’d just walked out of her apartment appeared unfazed by her new wardrobe. He could do that himself.

He watched Dwane snap a photo of them and Jared rolled his eyes. He knew that was going to his father, and likely Andy and Emerson. “Which are you gonna put on?” Dwane asked curiously.

“Hmm, I don’t know, maybe I should ask her what her favorite color is,” he half smiled.

“Surprise her,” Dwane commented. “I’m out, this is a you problem, not a me problem.” And he watched his Beta walk from the closet.

“You’re not annoyed, Tallah spent thousands of dollars on me?” Jared called after him.

“No, I’ll tell Edward he’ll reimburse her. Hell, he’ll probably try and give Wynta a pack card of her own with unlimited funds, just to help her annoy you even more.” His Beta laughed. “She might even accept it for that very reason.”

Jared shook his head, his Beta was not wrong, his father likely would offer her money to find better ways to annoy him. He let it go as he looked at that suits, and pulled the bone-colored one off the shelf. He could match that with any of his shirts and shoes.

He laid it out on his bed and went back for underwear and sock, pulled the draw open and stopped dead as he looked at the array of brightly colored, sparkling, neatly folded underwear. He shook his head. Now, that was definitely Wynta, likely it had started out as just this, and Tallah had just kicked it up a notch. Two devious women, it seemed, egging each other on.

He pulled out a pair. No one would see it and his eyes widened a little as he realized it was a thong. “You’re asking for punishment, I see, woman.” He muttered and tossed it back in the draw. He was not going to wear that.

He checked all the other draws and shelving, rummaged through his entire walk-in, surely she had left at least one pair of briefs here, and huffed when he realized she’d taken all of his underwear with her.

Jared’s eyes whipped towards Andy and Emerson as they clutched at each other, and he saw Andy try to get his phone out, Jared stalked over and banged his double bedroom doors shut. To keep them out, he leaned on the doors and wondered how the hell they knew to come in just then, at the most inopportune moment.

His eyes moved to his phone, and he snarled a little, as Creed chortled and rolled around inside his mind as much as his own unit was out there in the living area of his penthouse. He walked over to the bed and pulled his suit pants on, and got them up just as the boys banged into his bedroom. All three of them had phones out and pointed at him.

“Come on Jared, c***k us a smile.” Andy burst out, and once again Dwane was doubled over laughing, his phone clattering to the floor.

Jared turned his eyes on them. “You’re all asking for a beating.” He muttered.

“Your dad said.” Dwane pointed at him; tears were spilling down his face, he was laughing so hard. “10 million… for the winning shot…” he doubled over once more. “Of you in that sparkly thong.” His Beta was on his knees now, unable to stand he was laughing so hard.

“To late boys.” He rapped out and pulled his dress shirt on to button it up.

“Bummer.” Andy snorted and Dwane looked at Andy and roared with laughter once more.

“Spoil sport.” Emerson muttered.

Jare rolled his eyes and shook his head, but for his dad to know? ‘Wynta tell him, about sparkly thongs.’ His wolf chortled, ‘She funny.’

‘Hilarious.’ Jared shot at his wolf. “Get out, you mongrels.” Jared shot at them and continued to get dressed. They all left his apartment still laughing, and he closed his eyes and told himself it would pass. He took a breath in and released it slowly. It was nothing to be concerned about. It was only the boys that saw it, no one else, they’d been pulling pranks on him for years. This was no different to that.

He left the apartment with his unit all still snickering and trying not to laugh outright, and he glared at each one in turn, not that it did any good. And he had to adjust himself twice in the car. This bloody thong was uncomfortable to say the least, but with every shift he made, the boys erupted into gales of laughter inside the car.
