The young man paused for a moment, snapping out of his admiration and, with a gentlemanly smile, said, “I’m resonating with the artist.”
Gloria’s eyes flickered, and she asked curiously, “Resonating with what?”
The young man replied, “This painting is signed ‘Gloria.‘ It’s the name of a young woman. She has painted her inner world. I see her struggles and her self–rescue, and then, I see the rain clearing.
I guess she went through a very despairing time, but she fought through it, braving the
storms and cutting through the thorns. In the end, she became a very brave person. I can
see all of that in the painting.”
Gloria stood there in a daze, unable to speak for a long time.
The young man looked so young, no more than twenty–four or twenty–five, yet he had such
insight.
He had described her heart precisely.
The young man, seeing that Gloria hadn’t responded, smiled and continued, “I really want to meet this Gloria. I want to tell her that I’m truly fascinated by her.”
Just then, the owner of the Time Gallery happened to walk over and called out to Gloria, “Gloria, it’s lunchtime. Let’s go eat,”
This time, the young man was stunned.
Fearing that Gloria might leave, he quickly pulled out his business card, showing a well–behaved expression, and, in a soft tone, pleaded, “Sister, please contact me, okay?”
He looked handsome and charming, sincere and natural–anyone would have a hard time resisting.

But Gloria didn’t take the card.
She didn’t even notice the title “President of Empire Selina Group” written on it.
She only smiled and said, “Thank you for the appreciation,” before leaving with the gallery
owner.
Men.
Ha, they were no longer within the scope of her trust.
During lunch, the gallery owner told Gloria that her painting had attracted significant
attention.
Many well–known people were interested in collecting it. Conveniently, there would be a Sotheby’s auction in the capital in three days, and he planned to send the painting there for
auction.
Gloria had no objections.
After all, as the artist, she was also curious to see how much her painting could be
auctioned for.
Three days later.
The Sotheby’s auction was held as scheduled in the ballroom of the B city International
Hotel.
Before the auction started, Gloria sat in the lounge, waiting for her painting to be brought up to the stage.
Unexpectedly, she ran into Sean there.
Sean.
In the four years she had been away, she had often thought of him.

Chapter 11
At first, there was anger and hatred, but over time, she had gradually forgotten about him.
Yet, strangely, in the past few days since her return, she had completely forgotten about
him.
Sean had learned of Gloria’s return from a friend.
At the time, he was with his grandmother, celebrating her 80th birthday at the old family
residence.
Halfway through dinner, he received the news from an old friend and immediately dropped his chopsticks and rushed to the International Hotel.
After four years, he had finally seen the person who had haunted his dreams.
As soon as he entered, tears streamed down his face.
With a trembling voice, he said, “Baby…”
Gloria merely looked at him calmly, as if she were looking at a stranger.
She smiled and asked, “Sir, are you sure you have the right person?”
Sean stumbled a few steps toward her, kneeling beside her legs, his eyes filled with tears.
“Baby, you’re back… Where have you been all these years? I’ve been searching for you so desperately… Baby, I really know I was wrong. Please give me a chance to make it up to you, okay? Everything is my fault. I betrayed you, I deserve to be struck by lightning…”
Before he could finish, a bright, youthful voice interrupted him from the door.
“Gloria sis-”
Gloria remained unflustered, looking toward the door, and saw the young man from before, the one who had stood in front of her painting for over an hour.
Chapter 11
He was still as handsome as ever, too good–looking to be true.
“Gloria sis,” he quickly ran over, ignoring Sean, “I heard you were resting here. I wanted to meet you first. Your painting–I’m going to win it at the auction.”
Sean wiped away his tears and looked at the young man with confusion, saying
uncertainly, “Lucas?”
Lucas was the president of Empire Selina Group, a rising tech mogul in the capital over the past two years. He was highly talented in the field of artificial intelligence and was
well–known across the city.
Hearing his name, Lucas responded, “Who are you?”
Sean said, “I’m her husband, Sean.”
Before Gloria could speak, Lucas retorted, “Nonsense. Gloria sis is single. She’s an overseas US citizen and just arrived here. I’ve already checked it out.”
Sean felt a sense of crisis, arguing, “Ask her, we never went through a divorce. She’s still my precious wife…”
Gloria watched their exchange with a cold expression.
She stood up, shrugged casually, and said, “Sorry, I need to leave. The auction is about to
begin.”
As she walked out the door, Gloria finally confirmed that she no longer had any feelings for
Sean.
A man who betrayed his marriage was never worth forgiving.
And to waste her energy on such a man was even more foolish.
She was no longer the naive girl who once thought she would love Sean for a lifetime.
Chapter 11
The auction officially began.
Sunrise on the Ocean Currents stunned everyone, but since the artist wasn’t well–known,
the starting price was very low.
The host announced the starting bid as 50,000.
