I Refuse to Be Your Second Choice novel Chapter 132

His voice was low and restrained, yet brimming with astonishment.

"Natalie, what did you just say? Say it again."

"But… but I feel so awful…"

Natalie tugged at his collar, trying to kiss the hollow of his throat while her slender fingers traced patterns on his neck and behind his ear.

"Be good. Just say it one more time, and I'll give you anything you want," Alexander coaxed, his heart aching as he watched her struggle.

But he had to know for sure.

Natalie wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered into his ear, "I only love you. I've never had any feelings for Professor Ramirez."

Alexander’s dark eyes widened. This time, he heard her perfectly clearly.

When he didn't move, Natalie, her eyes glazed with desire, began to climb onto him.

She ignited a fire in his already uncontrollable desire.

Before she could make her next move, Alexander had already pinned her beneath him.

-

When she woke up, Natalie's head was spinning.

The curtains were drawn, blocking out the daylight and casting the room in shadow, but she could vaguely make out its layout and furnishings.

There was a noise outside the door, the sound of someone moving around.

She was instantly wide awake. This wasn't Arianna's apartment.

The sordid memories of last night flooded her mind.

Alexander had saved her.

And after he saved her?

Her memory was a blur. She vaguely recalled Alexander asking her a lot of questions, and then…

"You're awake?"

A voice from the doorway cut through her thoughts.

Alexander walked in, carrying a thermos.

Natalie tried to sit up, but her limbs felt like they belonged to someone else, and a deep ache radiated through her entire body.

"Now that you're up, go take a shower. The soup is still hot. After you eat, I'll take you to the hospital."

"The hospital?"

Natalie was surprised for a moment, then understood it was because of the drug.

Yes, the drug had made her feel strange. But what happened after that, what she said, what she did—she couldn't remember any of it clearly.

Still, the soreness in her body and the faint sensations she could recall told her exactly what had happened between her and Alexander last night.

"Alexander Ramirez, why did you touch me!" Natalie snapped, her eyes glaring at him.

They were practically divorced. What was this supposed to be?

Alexander chuckled. "It's fine. I'll just consider it a souvenir from you."

They were getting divorced. What was the point of souvenirs?

Natalie was mortified. She didn't want to admit it, but the evidence was irrefutable.

"I'll compensate you," she muttered, turning her head away.

Alexander stood before her, leisurely putting his clothes back on.

"How will you compensate me?" he asked.

Natalie didn't know how to compensate for something like this. With money?

"I don't want money."

As if reading her mind, Alexander shut down that possibility.

Natalie looked at him. "Then how do you want to be compensated?"

Once he was dressed, Alexander suddenly leaned over her, planting his hands on either side of her. His handsome, statuesque face broke into a grin as he brought his face close to hers.

Natalie leaned back instinctively, her hands bracing behind her. The blanket slipped, leaving her chest exposed.

She let out a small cry and reflexively reached for the blanket, falling back onto the bed in the process.

Alexander followed, pressing down, a smirk on his lips.

"I want you to take responsibility for me."
