Natalie yanked Alexander into her apartment.
She slammed the door shut and looked up at him, demanding, "Alexander Ramirez, do you think divorce is a game?"
He had signed the papers, and now he wanted to withdraw the application. Who was he to decide on a whim whether they would divorce or not?
There was a time when she had longed for him to come back to her, willing to sacrifice all her dignity. Now that she had finally seen the truth, he was the one repeatedly trying to stop the divorce.
She was sick of this emotional tug-of-war.
"You really don't want to give us another chance?"
Alexander's playful smile vanished, his dark, intense eyes fixed seriously on Natalie.
He finally understood. It had all been a misunderstanding. The words she had blurted out last night had shocked him, and he had immediately sent Aaron to investigate.
That afternoon, Aaron confirmed it. The girl from years ago had indeed seen Natalie confess to Eugene at BlueNight. She claimed Natalie had said more, but the music was too loud to hear clearly.
Later, she heard from others that Natalie had only confessed to Eugene because she had lost a game of truth or dare.
But the girl had been jealous of Natalie and deliberately twisted the truth.
And he had happened to walk by at that exact moment and heard it all.
That one moment had led to all of this. Natalie had every right to be disappointed in him.
But now that Alexander knew he had been wrong, he didn't want to truly lose her.
Natalie laughed, but her eyes turned red. "If I give you a chance, I'll be letting someone else down."
If she gave Alexander a chance, she would be betraying the memory of their lost child.
Her baby in heaven would blame her.
She was using Eugene as an excuse again. Alexander was starting to lose his patience. "I already know about that! Can you stop using it as an excuse?"
Natalie froze. He already knew how she lost the baby?
Back then, in a moment of spite, she had told him she'd had an abortion. Did he now know that she had miscarried because of the car accident?
"You know?" she asked, her eyes searching his, uncertain.
"Yes, I know. I admit I misunderstood and hurt you back then, so don't bring it up again. It won't work on me."
He thought she was trying to use Eugene as a shield, to make him believe she truly loved someone else.
Tears streamed silently down her face, not for herself, but for her lost child.

The White Estate.
In the living room, Camila White knelt on the floor, her hair a mess, her cheeks swollen and red.
"This is all because of you! Benjamin is in the hospital because of you!" Luke White pointed a trembling finger at her, panting with rage. "You did nothing to help him, and now look what's happened!"
No matter what wrongs Benjamin committed, she was always the one who bore the brunt of their father's anger.
Camila clenched her fists, trying to hold back, but finally, she retorted, "Is it my fault that he's a sexual predator? Dad, I'm your child, too. Why can't you ever be kind to me?"
Luke White snatched a teacup and hurled it at her. It struck her on the forehead, leaving a bleeding gash before rolling onto the carpet.
"How dare you compare yourself to Benjamin! What have you ever contributed to the White family? You refuse every match I arrange for you. You're nothing but a worthless drain on our resources!"
"If you want me to be kind to you, then go convince Alexander Ramirez to reinvest! Or marry into the Ramirez family!"
Camila's head snapped up. "If I can achieve one of those two things, will you let me inherit The White Group?"
