I Refuse to Be Your Second Choice novel Chapter 342

After their first meeting, Camila quickly figured out that Mike and Natalie Watson worked at the same company. She also realized why Mike had come to Cabinda. When Mike tried to get her into bed, she told him she wanted information about Natalie in exchange. That was the deal.

Mike leaned in, the interest clear in his eyes. "Come on, that's why I'm here, isn't it? To give you the info. Relax. You won’t even get a chance to feel shy. I’ll make you lose control. You’ve been there before, haven’t you?"

He didn’t wait for her response and tried to tug her upstairs.

Camila wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled, her voice soft and teasing. "Wouldn’t it be even better if I was totally relaxed first? Just tell me what I want to know, please?"

She stood on tiptoe and whispered something in his ear.

Mike’s eyes lit up. He glanced at the living room sofa and grinned. "You really know how to keep things interesting."

Not long after, Mike spilled everything. He told her what Natalie had said in the office about her last lifeline: the security camera footage.

Camila’s face froze in shock. "There’s footage? Seriously?"

Mike shrugged. "Don’t stress. Just get rid of that video and Natalie’s got nothing left. What are you scared of?"

He was right. Camila had come this far already. If she destroyed Natalie’s last hope, she’d win. Natalie would have nothing left and she’d be completely at Camila’s mercy.

She thought it over. Her nerves slowly faded and she started to relax.

Mike leaned in, his hand sliding up under her shirt. His lips brushed her neck, his voice low and rough. "Feeling better now? Because I can’t wait anymore."

Camila snapped back, catching his hand through her shirt before he could go further.

"Hold on," she said, flashing a flirtatious smile. "I brought a bottle of amazing red wine. How about we use it to set the mood?"

Camila gently pushed him away, her tone playful and sweet. "You still have a little left in your glass."

Mike frowned but picked up the glass and finished the last sip.

The moment he set it down, dizziness hit him. His body felt heavy and sluggish.

He tried to clear his head, but his legs wouldn’t hold steady. Camila’s image blurred before him, splitting into shadows.

Realization dawned. The wine was drugged. Mike’s eyes widened, a mix of shock and anger.

"You… What did you put in my drink?"
