I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra) novel Chapter 178

“This doesn’t concern you. Get out.”

Myron protested, “…This is my office. Fine, I’ll just be quiet.”

But under Steven’s icy stare, he eventually relented and left.

Steven turned his attention back to me, his eyes dark and menacing. He returned to the original topic.

“Noah is threatening to use this photo to force me into a divorce. If I agree, everything stays quiet. If I don’t, he’ll use it to create a media storm and drag the Lancaster family’s name through the mud. I have one question for you: did you know about this?”

So, that was Noah’s plan. No wonder he had said he was worried I would back out. It was a dirty tactic, and it would definitely hurt Verna and tarnish the Lancaster family’s reputation. But for Steven, it was a clear choice.

I crossed my arms and looked at the cold, imposing man before me.

“Does it matter? I chose Noah, which means I accept his methods. Now, you need to decide what you’re going to do. Are you going to divorce me, or are you going to let your family be dragged into a scandal?”

Steven’s eyes darkened, a chilling frost settling in them. “I shouldn’t have underestimated you. You may be a clinging vine, but you’re certainly good at attracting trouble. Noah wouldn’t help you for no reason. What’s his price?”

There was that look again, as if any man I got close to was a potential threat to his honor.

I laughed, annoyed. “Put away your filthy imagination. He didn’t ask for anything. Horace is one thing, but are you really going to be suspicious of a complete stranger?”

His lips pressed into a thin line. “Zephyra, I’m worried you’re so stupid you’ll get sold and not even know it.”

“If I get sold, that’s my own damn fault. I don’t need you to worry about me,” I snapped, tired of the back-and-forth. I just wanted this to be over. Noah had given me a golden opportunity, and I pressed my advantage.
