Kylian/Karma’s P.O.V.
After CG stormed off, I stared at the basement door for a while. I was nervous. More than I should be. I’d been avoiding Havoc at all costs after putting him down there.
Havoc hurt us all with his lies. I knew it. I held it together the most back then because I had to, because I’m the prez. Psy.cho was angry. I could tell that he was pi.ssed at Blythe and sad. He and Havoc drown themselves in pu.ssy just to forget about her. But I knew that CG went through the most. Well, aside from Angie.
What hurts the most is that Havoc was more than willing to let us all suffer back then. While we were torn apart inside, wondering why she didn’t love us anymore… he knew the truth. We all made so many mistakes though. Bly was right about that. None of us are innocent.
We let Everly and Alex lie for years. They even got rid of my sister without me questioning it. All we did was send them off with a slap on the wrist. Dragon was the only one who even threatened one of them, and Everly made a huge deal out of it. We let them convince us that Bly was a bad person. We let them convince her that we didn’t love her. That was all on us.
We treated Blythe so badly after literally dragging her here that she nearly starved to death. We pushed her after everything she’d been through. We rarely had a care about her feelings at all. Sure, things changed quickly, but… not quick enough. It all feels like too little too late.
And now… Now I have to go deal with a brother. I have to strip his cut to nothing, humiliate him in front of the club, and give him to Blythe as a little lapdog. I hate all of it. Havoc made me do it. He forced my hand…
“Want me to go with you?”
I turned my head to see Diesel standing there.
“Ps.ycho and Dragon managed to drag Bly off,” he told me. “She had a bit to drink… I saw CG go to his room. I was about to leave, but I saw you over here. Seems you finally made a decision. You want to go alone, or would you like a brother’s support, Prez?”
“What about your baby and ol‘ lady?” I asked.
He shrugged.
“Think they can handle it for a few more minutes,” he said. “We’re brothers. Havoc’s a brother. I understand how hard this is.”
I gave him a single nod before unlocking the door. Diesel followed me down the steps to the makeshift cell we were keeping Havoc in. I should have known Havoc was going to be in bad shape, but it was still a shock to see. In all my years with the club, I’ve never seen a brother down here before.
Havoc was on the dirty ground with his feet splayed out in front of him. His hair was a straggly mess, half in a hair–tie. There’s dried blood under his nose from when I’d hit him. His cut was gone, he was dirty, and there was a pile of uneaten food in the corner. Rubble said he hadn’t really been eating. He looks slimmer too.
After a moment, Havoc finally looked up. His eyes widened a fraction for just a moment. Then a sense of acceptance washed over him. It was visible. Like he knew I was here to kill him, and he understood why.
“You’ve put me in a real fu.cked up situation, Evander,” I said. Havoc won’t exist anymore after this. At least, not for a very long time.
“Can I please just see her before you kill me?” he begged. “Please? I just need to explain to her-”
“Explain what?” I bit out, cutting him off. “Explain how you let her rot away in that place? Bein‘ tortured every day while thinkin‘ that we hated her, that we all wanted her there. Then sent off to marry some a.sshole who she thought had her back. All to end up on the streets because she felt safer there than with us.”
“I didn’t know…” He sobbed as he dropped his head to his hands. “I swear I didn’t know… I would never have… I fu.cked up… I’m so sorry.”
I stared at him for a moment as he cried and repeated the same words over and over again.
“Do you even care what you did to us?” I asked him. “Or Angie? She tried to kill herself. CG almost drank himself to death. You watched us all suffer and didn’t say sh.it.”
“I know, I’m so sorry,” he rushed out, looking at me. “I was a coward. I have no excuse. I thought that… everyone would get over her, forget about her.”
“Did you get over her?” I asked. “Did you ever forget about her?”
“No, never,” he replied, shaking his head.
“We’re all pi.ssed at you,” I said.
“Please, just let me see her one last time,” he begged.
“Here’s the thing, Evander,” I said. “I’m not gonna kill you.”
“I deserve death,” he muttered.
“Some of us agree, but… some of us don’t,” I replied.
“You voted on my death?” he asked, surprised.
“Not exactly what I meant,” I said. “There are some people who’ve made it very clear that they don’t want you dead.”
“But… your the prez,” he said, sounding confused.
“Yeah,” I agreed. “And you should be happy that we’re in love with the same girl.”
“Wait… Blythe’s the one who doesn’t want me dead?” he asked, shocked.
“She’s angry as hell, don’t think she ain’t,” I warned him. “But she wants to deal with your punishment herself. She ain’t talked to any of us other than to yell the entire time you’ve been down here.”
“Don’t say sh.it, just listen,” I cut him off. “I’m only doin‘ this for three reasons. One, Blythe would never forgive us if we killed you, or if she never saw you again. Two, I think we would all regret it too much anyway. And three, because we’re gonna need your help. SD or Quinn… someone’s gonna come after us, and when Sean learns that Bly is here… he’s gonna come for her.”
I paused for a moment, making sure that Havoc was on the same page as me.
“So, this is what’s gonna happen,” I continued. “I’m gonna tell everyone that you cheated on Blythe. Since Rex from the mother chapter now knows about all this sh.it, I have to come up with somethin‘. Deal is that I demoted you to prospect until I see fit. You’ll get a prospect cut, and be stripped of all your privileges. You’ll move back into your parents‘ house. And… you’ll be Bly’s lapdog.”
“You’re going to let me be around her?” he asked, surprised.
“Not because I want to,” I hissed, narrowing my eyes at him. “This is what Bly wants. Don’t think it’ll be easy either. You ain’t allowed to touch her at the fu.ck all. I don’t care if she touches you first or begs you. You run the fu.ck away before you ever even think about layin‘ a finger on her. You also will not talk to her unless she asks you a question or tells you to. You understand? You will be her bodyguard, her butler, her puppy, anythin‘ she wants you to be. But you answer to me first. Remember that.”
Havoc gave me a single nod.
“You’ll be stripped of your name and title, obviously,” I added. “And you need to work on buildin‘ trust with the brothers again. Until we can actually trust you… I won’t consider patchin‘ you in again. We clear?”
“Yeah. We’re clear,” he said.
I stared at him for another moment before motioning to Diesel to unlock it. Havoc stood up, but instead of letting him out, I stepped in. He looked at me in confusion for a moment before realization set in. I gave him a hard look.
“Can’t let you get off too easily,” I said.
“I understand,” he replied.
Havoc clasped his hands behind his back and braced himself. He looked straight ahead, staring at nothing really. Part of me really hated that I was about to do this, but I had no choice. We have a rat somewhere. I have to make sh.it believable. Plus, CG was right. Can’t let him off too easily.
I threw the first punch, landing on his cheek. Then I threw another and another. Rage blinded me as I landed blow after blow. Rage about this entire situation, about what he did to us, about what happened to Bly… All the built–up anger came pouring out of me. And Havoc took it all too, grunting here and there and stumbling backwards. Eventually he fell to his knees, his face a bloody mess. I finally stopped, and turned around.
“Get him cleaned up,” I told Diesel. “Have Slider or Joker help. I want him showered by mornin‘ and his room cleaned out. Don’t care how you treat his sh.it.”
“Got it,” he replied with a single nod.
“Make sure everyone’s in church tomorrow mornin‘,” I added before looking at Havoc. “You can sleep at home, but you better not let Blythe see you until after church tomorrow.” I threatened him.
He gave me a nod that made me wince. I beat him pretty badly. Bly isn’t going to talk to me for weeks, but… at least this was a step forward.
I just hope it was good enough to get the others back in her good graces.
