But here was the news: Flavian showed up in front of me with a woman hanging on his arm, but instead of introducing her right away and explaining she was his sister, he just stood there with that mocking little smile. I was ready to chase the girl away, but fortunately, she stepped forward and introduced herself.

Lexie was beautiful, tall, slim, with a narrow waist, long straight black hair, and dark eyes like Flavian's. She had doll-like eyelashes that enhanced her features. She had full lips and fair skin. She was also very friendly and only lost her smile when Flavian mentioned Patrick, which made me think they probably didn't get along very well.

"Where are the big shots, Rick?" Flavian asked, referring to Patrick and Alexander.

"Patrick's already gone. He came in really early today and left even earlier. But Alexander..." Rick looked ahead, and I saw Alexander coming out through the door.

"I'm here! How are you, Flavian? Catherine's been complaining that you two have disappeared," Alexander greeted my boyfriend, and I realized I hadn't been to their house in a while.

"Tell her we'll visit soon. Alex, this is my sister, Lexie," Flavian introduced his sister casually.

Alexander and Lexie greeted each other, and he assessed her.

"But Patrick said she was a child..." Alexander said, confused.

"And she is!" Flavian insisted, and Lexie huffed.

"In what world, Flavian?" Rick asked. "Your sister is a woman and a very beautiful one. Accept it before you go crazy scaring away all her suitors."

"Cut it out, Rick. Lexie came here precisely to get away from a suitor. Now what she needs is a job," Flavian complained, and I noticed my boyfriend was protective of his sister.

"I can help you with that, Lexie," Alexander offered. "Send your resume to Rick, I'll find you a position here."

"That would be wonderful, Alexander! Thank you," Lexie lit up again.

Flavian dropped me off at college after we left the company. He kept insisting on walking me to my classroom, but I tried to explain it wasn't necessary.

"Big guy, look, PH is right there. We talked today, and I explained the situation. He'll wait for me at the entrance and drop me off here at the exit every day. He said he'd stick close to me when you're not around," I explained once again.

"Alright, but tell him not to stick too close," I laughed at my jealous boyfriend. I said goodbye to Flavian and got out of the car, hugged Lexie and walked away.

"Manu!" PH looked closely at my face and sighed. "It was worse than I thought. I'll look after you around here."

My friend put his arm around my shoulders, and we walked toward my classroom while I told him about Lexie.

"Man, what's wrong with these mothers? Someone needs to tell them we're in the twenty-first century. This arranged marriage thing is so outdated," PH was amazed. "I need to tell you about this guy I met over the weekend."

"Still on dating apps, PH?" I laughed at my friend who met a new guy every week, only to end up disappointed by the end of it.
