Flavian’s POV

Manu was full of energy that morning. When I got to the kitchen, she was already waiting for me with the breakfast table set. It was good to see her like this, light-hearted and carefree.

"What do you want to do today, little one?" I asked, already thinking about enjoying the sunny day with my Manu.

"For starters, I want to read the note my friend gave me yesterday that the detective confiscated," Manu said while spreading jelly on her toast, and I wasn't sure if she was being serious or just messing with me.

"What note?" I played dumb.

"Flavian, are we going to have to talk about trust again?" Manu looked at me, and at that time I knew she was serious.

I sighed and got up, went to the couch in the living room, and retrieved the note from my suit jacket pocket, which had been forgotten there the night before after I'd dropped it to pick up my little one in my arms. The night had been very good. I returned to the table and handed the note to Manu.

"Very well! Did that hurt?" Manu was impossible.

"Yes, it did hurt, it hurt a lot to see some kid hitting on my girlfriend!" I was honest; I was burning with jealousy. "And it's killing me knowing that you see each other every day and I can't do anything about it."

"But you did something, detective. You marked your territory yesterday with that indecent kiss you gave me in front of everyone. I doubt anyone would dare come near me with ulterior motives. In fact, I doubt any guy would dare come near me at all," Manu spoke calmly, and I broke into a smile.

"Ah, that kiss was really good!" I laughed, remembering how I grabbed her shamelessly for everyone to see and kissed her as if I were going to undress her right there.

"It's only because it was so good that I'm not going to fight with you! Besides, I enjoyed seeing the faces of the gossip group from college, they were sitting behind me and spent the entire lecture talking about how hot the detective was."

"Ah, little one, so you were jealous too? But they didn't touch me, unlike your little friend..." I still hadn't gotten over this Peter Hank guy.

"Come on, Flavian! Do you really think any man has a chance against you? Look in the mirror, you're a Greek god, it's impossible to look at anyone else when I have you." My smile grew wider.

"So you only have eyes for me?" She nodded. "Then why did that kid have his arm over your shoulder?" Manu huffed.

"Read the note, Flavian." She placed the folded paper in front of me.

"I trust you," I replied and gave her lips a quick kiss.

"I want you to read it!" She insisted. I looked at her somewhat suspiciously, but she stretched out the note toward me.

I took the paper and unfolded it. I wasn't prepared for what I read on that piece of paper. I looked at Manu, who was holding back a laugh, and looked back at the paper where it said, "Who is this man, girl? Any chance he might be gay and give me his number after the lecture?"

Manu burst into laughter, seeing my surprised expression.

"Is he gay?" I asked, still in disbelief.
