Irresistible Boss Succumbing to Your Touch (Maria Anita) novel Chapter 489

Cesar’s POV

I went to see Sabrina in London so she could finally fulfill her part of our agreement. I really thought she could help me, but she was so incompetent that she couldn't do the one thing I asked her to do: win Flavian back and bring him home. I was starting to think she only managed to marry him because, at the time, his mother and I still had some influence over that boy. But now, he couldn’t even stand Sabrina.

To make things even more difficult, that idiot did a lousy job when I told her to handle the divorce issue, and Flavian quickly discovered the signatures weren't his. She hadn't even made up a story to justify the signatures - she could have gotten him drunk and then said he signed them. It was simple, but she couldn't even do that.

On top of everything else, my son hired none other than that creep Dr. Castle to be his lawyer. That attorney was a thorn in my side, and Flavian knew it very well - he was the only one I couldn't bribe to do things my way.

But since nothing was so bad that it couldn’t get worse, Sabrina called me in desperation because she had to go to the police station to explain about the forged documents. I didn't think Flavian would go that far, and this couldn't splash back on me. I sent someone I trusted to find out what was happening, and the forgery problem had become quite serious, so the divorce would be inevitable. It was time to let Sabrina fend for herself - she was no longer useful to me.

Flavian was divorced and living with that girl. Perhaps it would be best to meet this girl and see if she could be useful. That was what I had to do. Finding out Flavian's shift schedule was easy. I needed to catch the girl alone; the only problem would be if she wouldn't receive me, but the young lady was polite and didn't put up any resistance - she actually received me quite well.

Of course, she notified Flavian that I was there, so I had to be quick and leave before he arrived. I wasn't willing to have another argument with that stubborn boy. One day he would recognize that everything I did was for his own good.

However, things wouldn't be as simple as I had hoped. Despite being very young, unfortunately, the girl wasn't as foolish as I had imagined. She was clever and made it clear that she wouldn't do anything for my cause; on the contrary, she supported Flavian. A fool! I could do so much for her if she joined forces with me. Perhaps I should persist, maybe find her weak spot.

I was just thinking about how to discover the girl's Achilles' heel when the answer fell right into my lap. Leaving the building, I bumped into a woman accompanied by a young man, certainly her son. I apologized, but I overheard her insisting to the doorman to let her in, claiming she was Manuela's mother. And from the little I understood of what the girl had said, she and her mother had issues. Perhaps this could be my way in.

"Oh, please, I'm her mother, and this is her brother. We want to surprise her. Let us go up." The woman was overflowing with charm towards the doorman and kept insisting on going up unannounced, which I found strange, but I decided to pay attention to the scene.

"Look, ma'am, I can't do that. It could cause big trouble." The doorman was hesitant to allow those people in.

"Trouble? Why? Wouldn't you like to receive a surprise visit from your mother?" The woman didn't seem like she would give up. The doorman thought for a moment and then gave in.

"All right, ma'am. Show me your IDs, I'll check them, and if you're really her mother, I'll let you in." The doorman was convinced, took the documents, verified them, and opened the gate, letting the woman and the young man enter without being announced.

She was quite persuasive. I left the building and got into my car, planning to wait there until that woman came out. Maybe she would be interested in making a deal with me? I was parked across the street, keeping an eye on the building, and saw the exact moment when Flavian drove by and entered the garage. He didn't see me because I was in a car I had rented at the airport.
