Justice For Juniper (Tatienne Richard) novel Chapter 135

Justice For Juniper

Sugar Baby Part I

Juniper was sitting on the edge of the bed with her head reeling and her heart fuller than she’d ever imagined possible. They’d returned to the villa only a few minutes ago and it had been difficult to leave Beni’s grandparents‘ house. When Fermínsaid his mother Anna was going to love her to death, he hadn’t been

wrong.

The woman arrived when after dinner drinks were being poured and everyone was sitting around the patio happily chatting with Juniper and Fermín exchanging all kinds of information and Anna was frozen in her footsteps. Like Inigo, she took one look at Juniper and rushed to her whispering her dead daughter’s

name.

For a moment, Juniper was concerned they’d all be using her to replace Martina in their lives, but it was a short–lived concern. Her grandmother had coddled her desperately. She’d been yanked away from Phineas‘ lap to sit between Inigo and Anna and there was a level of affection to this woman she’d not

dreamed possible.

The woman was so emotional, she’d struggled to speak English, a language she apparently had spoken from the time she was a baby. She also ordered Fermín to make sure everything from homes to bank accounts were ready to be transferred to her granddaughter’s name. When Beni questioned whether they needed DNA or paternity tests done, Anna had gone off in a string of Spanish that Juniper didn’t need to understand the

language to know she was ripping him a new one.

Eventually, the yawning had started, and Beni’s grandparents were clearly ready to have their guests get the hell out of their house as Abuelo was nodding off in his patio chair. With tearful bids to see each other again the next day, which after a look at watches was really later the same day, Juniper was bundled into a car and brought back to Phineas‘ villa.

The three men were all downstairs making sure the house was secure and she was now alone, for the first time, letting the emotions of the day settle into her chest. She had a father. She had grandparents. People she’d never thought she’d ever need or have in her life and yet she knew if tomorrow she got up and they were gone, she’d be devastated.

Her mother had messaged from the interior of the plane to tell her to let the big asshole she was on board, and he better be ready for a punch to the sack when she landed but Juniper knew her mother was scared, and it wasn’t of flying. She had a feeling her mother was going to be equally if not more emotionally than Fermín was and it was saying something. The number of times she’d caught him watching her with tears on his cheeks over the course of the evening were too many to count.

She had a dad.

“What are you thinking?

“She was telling Fermín to buy you an island off the coast.” Beni laughed as he moved to sit beside her. He took her hand in his, “it’s funny, I was always the less wealthy one in our group. Adil’s

family is stupid rich and by default his trust funds make him almost as wealthy as Phineas. If he agreed to join the family business, he’d surpass Phineas in personal wealth collecting his first pay. Phineas is driven and dedicated, and he took the money and his family’s business and made it into something incredible and he’s legitimately a billionaire and potentially the wealthiest man in Canada and definitely in all of Ontario. I’m a millionaire many times over. I sit in the top hundred across our country of wealthy men, but those two downstairs surpass me in their interest payments alone.”

“What are you getting at?

“Your two husbands downstairs,” Beni nudged her shoulder with his, “don’t even come close to Fermín and his family’s wealth. Phineas was picking his brain earlier about business and it was so clear Phineas is in awe of his business acumen. He’s found a new hero to worship I think. However, Fermín has more money than most countries do. The way they were talking tonight, they’re going to make sure you get a piece of the pie.”

“I don’t want it.” she felt her face flush.

“Oh, you’re getting it, like it or not. Does your father seem like the kind of man who ever takes no for an answer? Your mother is scared of flying and she’s due to land in four hours.

“But” she protested.

“I only have one question.Beni grinned at her.
