Entering Phineas‘ office, she tried to forget the last time she was here, but her eyes automatically flicked to where the monitor she’d seen Kyst’s betrayal take place was now hidden behind the wall panels.

“Hey sweetheart,” Phineas immediately got up from his desk and rounded it to walk towards her, pulling her out of Adil’s grasp and hugging her tight to him. “This is a nice surprise.”

She wound her arms around his waist and hugged him back. “Suki was exhausted and went home but I wasn’t ready to go home yet. I thought I’d pop in and say hello. Adil picked me up on the bike.”

She gasped as he swept her up in his arms and carried her to sit on his lap behind his desk. “Phineas!”

“As if your feet should ever touch the floor when I’m around.” He kissed her temple. He looked at Adil, “thought you had a case this morning?”
