Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 671

On the drive back, Ryan’s phone rang.

Amelia glanced at the screen—Francisco. She couldn’t hear the conversation, but Ryan’s face didn’t give anything away. “Alright. I’ll drop Amelia off first, then I’ll come by,” he said, then took out his earpiece and tossed it aside.

Amelia looked over. “Everything okay?”

“There’s still some unfinished business with the Packman family. I need to go sort it out.” He glanced at her, caught the worry in her eyes, and smiled a little, reaching over to gently brush her cheek.

“What’s wrong? Think I can’t handle it?”

She shook her head, her tone serious. “Just… don’t hurt anyone unless you have to. And don’t do anything illegal.”

Ryan let out a quiet laugh. “Got it. I promise.”

He drove her back to the Sadinton family house. Amelia got out, pausing by the car door to wave at him.

“Drive safe, okay?”

Ryan nodded. “I will.”

He stayed in the car for a moment, his eyes lingering on her until she disappeared inside. Only then did he finally pull away.

Inside, Amelia stood by the window, watching his car until it faded from view. When she couldn’t see it anymore, she headed for the kitchen.

The house was quiet. Donna was out picking up Timmy, and Penny would be staying over tonight. Amelia had prepped ingredients earlier—she was planning to make dumplings and bake with the kids. It’d be a fun way to spend time together and let the little ones practice their skills.

She’d just finished chopping the meat for the filling when her phone rang—an unexpected call.

It was Jinx.

“Hey, Jinx. What’s up?”

“Mrs. Sadinton…” There was a tremor in Jinx’s voice, like she’d been crying. Amelia’s heart tightened and she set the knife down right away.

“What’s wrong, Jinx? Take your time, tell me.”

“Mrs. Sadinton, can you come to Grandpa Baker’s? He’s really not feeling well… I can’t help him at all. A doctor came but left, and Grandpa Baker is still really upset…”
