**By M. Kaushik**
**Chapter 29: My Grandpa Needs Your Help**
Hugo Parker, one of the prominent figures among the Parkers, rose from his seat, his wine glass glinting in the soft light of the room. With a warm and steady smile, he addressed the gathering, “Thank you, Helen, for always looking out for Josh. I must be the first to extend my heartfelt congratulations on your liberation from the Morgans.” His voice carried a blend of sincerity and celebration, echoing through the elegantly decorated hall.
Linda Quinn, the young heiress from another powerful conglomerate, joined in with an enthusiastic grin plastered across her face. “Absolutely! The Morgans are truly foolish. Letting go of someone as remarkable as you, Helen? They’ll be lamenting that decision for generations to come!” Her laughter was infectious, and the room seemed to brighten with her words.
“Come on, Helen! We absolutely must raise a toast to your newfound freedom,” Linda continued, her excitement palpable. “Walking away from them was undoubtedly the wisest decision you could have made.” The warmth of camaraderie filled the air, wrapping around Helen like a comforting blanket.
Helen couldn’t help but recall the long, arduous days spent in the company of the Morgans, where she felt trapped and drained. It had been a constant battle against exhaustion and despair. “If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have bothered putting up with them, let alone entrusting them with any business,” Linda added, her tone serious yet light-hearted.
“Seriously, it’s a well-known fact that every project involving the Morgans ends up in the red! They are utterly hopeless,” another voice chimed in, filled with frustration. “The only reason I endured was for you, Helen. If I had lost any more money, I swear, I would have taken a hatchet to them!” The laughter that followed was hearty, a shared understanding of the Morgans’ incompetence.
“Exactly! The Morgans are completely oblivious. They idolized the wrong person and let a true treasure like you slip right through their fingers!” The sentiment echoed around the room, a chorus of agreement and shared disdain for the Morgans.
At that moment, Josh stumbled into the room, clutching his stomach and sporting a look of genuine misery. However, as soon as he caught wind of the lively banter, his energy surged back like a wave crashing against the shore. He dashed over, waving his arms dramatically, “Enough with the Morgans already! Let’s banish those bad vibes. Tonight is all about celebrating Helen’s new chapter. She’s finally leveled up!” His enthusiasm was contagious.
He squeezed in next to Helen, his champagne flute raised high in the air. “To Helen! To new beginnings!” he exclaimed, his voice ringing out with joy.
In unison, everyone lifted their glasses, the sound of clinking crystal filling the space, a vibrant toast to Helen’s liberation.
As the crowd surged around her, vying for a spot next to Helen, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. Josh leaned closer, a mischievous grin lighting up his face. “All right, who can guess where Helen is living now?”
“Celestial Villas! Right in the heart of it all! Her place is so enormous, I can hardly fathom it!” someone shouted, their eyes wide with awe.
“Now, who can guess who Helen’s real parents are?” Josh continued, his voice dripping with playful intrigue.
Helen shook her head in disbelief, a mix of exasperation and amusement washing over her.
The room erupted with excitement as names of prestigious families and legendary old-money clans were tossed around like confetti. Some even joked that Helen must be a secret cultivator from a fantasy novel, destined to ascend to immortality.
Laughter filled the air, a delightful cacophony of joy and camaraderie.
Helen took a moment to sip her lemonade, her gaze sweeping over the faces of the influential and privileged gathered around her. Each person was genuinely thrilled for her, their laughter and light-hearted teasing a balm to her spirit.
