**TITLE: Broken Doesn’t Mean End**
**By M. Kaushik**
**Chapter 45: When You Suck, Admit It**

Helen’s gaze was as frigid as a winter morning, her eyes lifting slowly to meet Archie’s. The indifference in her tone was palpable, wrapping around her words like a cold mist. “No need,” she stated flatly. “I don’t require assistance from an idiot like you.”

Archie’s face darkened, a storm brewing within him as he approached Helen with purpose. His eyes bore into hers, searching for a crack in her composure. After a moment of intense scrutiny, he sneered, the contempt dripping from his voice. “Young lady, do you even comprehend the consequences of toying around in a place like this? Just because you’ve got a laptop and can throw together some coding doesn’t make you an expert. This isn’t your college computer science club!”

Helen’s expression remained unchanged, her eyelids not even fluttering. Her fingers danced across the keyboard with a deftness that was almost mesmerizing. “Oh, but you’re the expert, aren’t you? So expert that after all this time, the core template is still blaring alarms, hmm?”

Her tone dripped with mockery, a sharp jab that cut deeper than intended. It resonated not just with Archie but with the other researchers present, who had been toiling away for hours on end with little to show for their efforts. The atmosphere thickened with tension, the air crackling as frustration mounted.

Archie’s face flushed crimson, indignation boiling over as he retorted defensively, “What do you know? The fact that someone could trigger a national core research data crash speaks volumes about the sophistication and skill behind their attack methods. Our team has been working efficiently for 17 straight hours and hasn’t completely solved these problems. You—”

“Exactly.” Helen’s voice was unyielding, her eyes still glued to the screen as she pressed the confirm key. Instantly, a cascade of complex operating commands began to scroll across the display, each line a testament to her focus and determination.

Finally, she lifted her gaze, her expression as cool as ever. “When you suck, you should admit it.”

A few young researchers nearby couldn’t stifle their laughter, their snickers breaking the tension momentarily.

Fury ignited within Archie, his hands clenching into fists before he forced himself to relax, a sneer twisting his lips. “If you’re so capable, then why don’t you do it?”

“I’m standing right here…” Helen’s eyes flitted back to the screen, where the rapid succession of command data was seamlessly interfacing with the control room’s systems. “I’m here to fix the problem.”

Archie scoffed, disdain dripping from his voice. “Arrogant!”

Helen didn’t flinch. Instead, her voice was steady as she instructed, “Immediately sync the data and traces I need.”

At that moment, a senior researcher with graying hair rushed over, his urgency palpable.

His gaze flickered between Helen and Timothy before settling on Helen, a glimmer of hope in his otherwise serious demeanor. “Are you certain you can handle this?” he asked, his tone laced with concern.

“Absolutely,” Helen replied calmly. “As long as everyone cooperates and follows instructions, it shouldn’t be a problem.”

The senior researcher scrutinized her intently, then glanced at the code flickering across her screen at a dizzying pace. It was a blur, yet her fingers moved with an almost supernatural speed, as if she were orchestrating a complex symphony of data.

His expression sharpened as he turned to the core personnel. “From this moment on, everyone must give their full cooperation. Any questions can wait until after!”

“Mr. Peterson!” Archie exclaimed, incredulity etched across his face. “You actually believe her? What if she only knows superficial stuff and gets one set of data wrong? The core template will auto-destruct, and then—”
