“But it’s so late,” Sapphira fretted. “If she were okay, she would have called.”
She tried Larissa’s number again.
“Still no answer. Something must have happened. I’m going to talk to Vivica.”
If anything happened to Larissa, she would never forgive Vivica.
…
When Sapphira and Neville arrived at the west wing villa, they ran right into Vivica, Paxton, Leopold, and Honora, who were just leaving.
Vivica sneered. “Neville, Sapphira. What brings you here? Perfect timing. We were just heading to the ancestral hall to formally disown Larissa. Why don’t you join us?”
“Vivica, did you go see Larissa this afternoon?” Sapphira demanded.
Surprised by Sapphira’s hostile tone, Vivica replied, “Yes, I did. What about it? I was just giving her a chance to acknowledge us.”
“Larissa is missing. She’s not answering her phone,” Sapphira said. “What did you say to her? What did you do?”
“What are you implying, Sapphira?” Vivica shot back, annoyed. “What does her disappearance have to do with me? Are you accusing me of kidnapping her?”
