Robert bent down and met her eyes. “Have you made up your mind?”
Amelia looked up at him. “All I can say is ‘I’m sorry’—and ‘thank you.’”
A smile tugged at the corners of Robert’s mouth. “You don’t have to apologize. No one’s forcing me.”
…
By the time Daniel arrived at Elite Elysium, Amelia was long gone.
He strode in, irritation written all over his face. “Finley, you can’t even keep track of a single person. Maybe you should just shut this place down.”
Finley didn’t bother explaining. He simply slid a tablet loaded with security footage across the table to Daniel. “Watch for yourself.”
On the screen, the camera panned across a lavish private suite. Mogan was fussing over Violet’s arm, dabbing it with antiseptic. The skin wasn’t even broken, but Mogan insisted on cleaning the spot, refusing to relax until he’d disinfected it.
Just then, the door swung open. Cold, white light spilled onto the broad shoulders of the man stepping inside, starkly outlining his sharp features and cool, unreadable eyes.
“Daniel!” Violet jumped up the instant she saw him. The bandaged spot on her delicate white arm was strikingly visible.
Mogan’s reaction couldn’t have been more different. He sneered. “Well, look who finally found the time. No time to spend with Violet, and apparently none to keep your own wife in check.”
Daniel didn’t spare Violet a single glance. He walked straight to Mogan, thrusting the tablet into his chest.
“If I’m not mistaken, you were about to lay a hand on my wife?”
Mogan was momentarily stunned, staring at Daniel as if he’d grown another head. “So what’s your point? You’re backing Amelia over Violet now?”
Of course I am. Amelia’s my wife—who else would I defend? The words hovered on Daniel’s lips, but after a moment, he chose a different tack. “I’m on the side of what’s right. That’s all there is to it.”
Mogan just gaped, completely thrown off by Daniel’s bluntness.
Daniel didn’t spare Violet a single glance, let alone check on her arm. Turning to Finley, he said, “Make ten copies of the footage and send them to Mr. White—both his email and his phone. Let him take his time reviewing.”
As Daniel strode toward the door, Mogan finally snapped out of his daze and yelled at his back, voice raw with frustration, “Daniel, what the hell is this? Violet’s done so much for you, and you’re still tangled up with Amelia! Do you even know how much Violet—”
The sound of the door slamming shut cut off Mogan’s voice completely.

How come in every novel I read on here the women don’t tell the men they are the father of their child? I find this ridiculous....
