"What happened? Did you get into a fight?"
That was my first reaction.
Lisa glanced at his wound. "Come sit down. Let me take a look at that."
"It's fine," Brandon replied, then turned to me. "You were right. Someone is indeed spying on us in the estate."
My heart skipped a beat. "What? Did he follow us to the hospital too?"
There was a glint of intensity in his eyes that I hadn't seen in a long time. "Yeah, I caught him. I'll question him properly in a bit."
I could tell that the person must have been quite skilled, given that Brandon was injured. A shiver ran down my spine.
But at least the stalker had been caught.
"How was your check-up? Is everything okay?" Brandon asked, still concerned about me.
Considering he had just caught the stalker, I didn't tell him about me needing further tests. I only said, "I'm fine. With Liz here, what could possibly go wrong?"
Lisa glanced at me and nodded in agreement.
Brandon entrusted me to her, saying, "Lisa, please take care of my wife."
As he turned to leave, I grabbed his sleeve. "Are you leaving already?"
The days had been peaceful and comfortable lately. But then this unexpected thing happened, and now I felt unsettled.
Brandon gently pinched my ear. "I'm going to deal with the bad guys, so you can feel at ease. I'm telling you about it so you can be cautious, not to make you anxious."
I understood what he meant. "Be careful then. Get Liz to take a look at that wound."
But he waved it off. "It's just a scratch. Don't worry about it."
