**TITLE: The Heart I Buried for You by Serene Lockwood**
**Chapter 203 Burning Desire**
Deanna’s POV:
In the end, the delicate nightgown I had planned to wear remained untouched, a dream lost in the haze of passion. Luis had pinned me down once more, and we surrendered to the heat of the moment for an exhilarating two hours.
As sleep began to pull me under, I felt his warm breath against my ear, his voice a soft whisper that sent shivers down my spine. “I behaved in Euron.”
“Did you feel it?” he continued, his words wrapping around me like a cocoon. “I gave you everything.”
With my eyelids fluttering, caught between consciousness and slumber, I made a silent vow. I would cease my unfounded accusations against him. After the marathon of intimacy we had shared for five hours, it was clear he had not strayed; he had poured all his energy into me, leaving no room for anyone else.
When dawn broke, I awoke to a body that felt as if it had been dismantled and reassembled, every muscle protesting against the movement.
I shot Luis a glare, the architect of my current state.
He stood before the full-length mirror, adjusting his tie with a casual grace that made my frustration boil. His expression was one of calm, but those mischievous eyes sparkled with amusement, as if he were in on a joke I was not privy to.
Ugh! How could he still appear so fresh and composed after everything we had shared the previous night?
Turning away from his infuriatingly charming smirk, I dragged my weary body into the bathroom to prepare for the day ahead.
After a refreshing wash, I found myself standing in front of my closet, contemplating my outfit for what felt like an eternity. Finally, I settled on a white lace turtleneck paired with a snug pair of jeans. The delicate fabric and frilly collar did a commendable job of concealing the marks left on my neck and collarbone, remnants of our wild night.
Once I had dressed, I couldn’t resist sneaking a glance at Luis.
He chuckled softly, the sound warm and teasing. “Deanna, you really should control that burning desire in your eyes.”
Burning desire? I was not staring at him like that!
He looked dapper in a gray dress shirt, a perfectly tied tie, and tailored slacks that accentuated his long legs.
I couldn’t help but notice the red bite mark on his neck, a bold statement of our connection.
I hesitated, contemplating my next words. “You’ve got a mark on your neck. Want me to cover it with a Band-Aid?”
Luis raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. “I don’t mind. An Alpha with his mate’s mark is something to show off.”
“Whatever you say,” I muttered, rolling my eyes.
It wasn’t as if I would be the one facing ridicule.
