Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 53

Chapter 53 Apologize to Peggie

Jake’s POV:

My eyes widened, locked on the woman in front of me. For a moment I even forgot the burning pain across my cheek

Then I ground my teeth and shouted, Deanna, how dare you slap me?

She lifted her chin, fearless. What, you can grab me, but I can’t hit you?

I ran my tongue hard over my back teeth and forced the words out between clenched jaws. Apologize to Peggie.

Deanna, just admit you were wrong and beg for forgiveness, and I’ll let this go.

I won’t care about your past.

We’ll move past this and you’ll still be my Luna.

Deanna’s POV:

I was so mad that I actually laughed out loud.

I didn’t pour that tea on this tramp. Why should I apologize?

And I’m not the same Deanna who used to let you push me around.

Jake didn’t seem to hear me. He just stared stubbornly, waiting for me to cave in.

I sneered at him. Fine. You want me to apologize?

I turned to Peggie, who stood on the side there smirking like she had already won.

Peggie, since you claim I splashed you, then I should really do itbefore apologizing.

Before anyone could react, I strode to the coffee table, grabbed a bottle of mineral water, twisted it open, and flung it at her.

Arghhh!

Peggie screamed, covering her face. Water drenched her hair and clothes. She curled up on the couch and struggled to open her

eyes.

I folded my arms and apologized disdainfully. I’m sorry. Happy now?

Want me to keep apologizing?

One splash, one sorry.

Too bad this was cold water. If it were hot

I paused, flashing a wicked smile. I wouldn’t mind saying sorry twice.

Peggie’s eyes filled with tears. She wiped her face, ran over, and threw herself into Jake’s arms.

Jake! You have to help me! Why would Deanna do this to me? What did I ever do wrong? Waaaa!

Jake’s brows pulled tight, his expression unreadable as he glanced my way.
