Chapter 63 Thank You, Boyfriend
Deanna’s POV:
I snapped back to my senses and shoved Luis away. My face went red all the way to my ears.
When I glanced down, I realized one of the buttons on my blouse had come undone.
This scumbag!
I quickly buttoned it up, brushed the loose hair from my face, and tried to look calm.
Luis didn’t even lift his eyes. He drawled, “What’s there to be afraid of? Nobody dares to walk in here.”
I glared at him.

If people started talking, the story would sound terrible–an Alpha locked in his office with a woman for hours, not even answering the door.
Everyone would think I was desperate.
Luis’s POV:
Some idiot just had to ruin the moment.
But since I didn’t want Deanna feeling awkward, I straightened my shirt and walked to the door.
I opened it and blocked the frame with my body.
Standing there grinning was Dennis Eaton–my cousin and Director of the Projects Department.
He was chuckling as he craned his neck, eyes darting past me, trying to peek inside.
“You’re checking things a little too closely. Should I give up my chair for you?” My voice stayed calm, but I let a little Alpha pressure slip through.
His grin faltered, and he dropped his curiosity. He scratched the back of his head awkwardly. “Hehe, I just came to give you an update on the Eastside project. Got some papers for you to sign. Want to go over it inside?”
I snatched the folder without enthusiasm, scrawled my signature across it, then tossed it right back at him.
“Signed. Now get out.”
He caught it, still not giving up. “I heard there was an Omega-”
“You want to lose your eyesight?”
I shot him a cold look and slammed the door before he could finish, shutting out his endless chatter.
Turning back, I walked straight to the couch and sat down.
No project in the world mattered more than my girlfriend.

Chapter 63 Thank You, Boyfriend
My gaze locked on Deanna, dark and steady. I crooked a finger and said, “Come here.”
Deanna’s POV:
I didn’t hesitate. I walked straight over.
I was about to sit on the armchair next to the couch when his hand suddenly grabbed my wrist.
With one strong pull, I landed right on his lap.
I froze, staring at him–his sharp brows, straight nose, and thin lips.
I remembered hearing older folks say men with thin lips were heartless.
Who knew if that was true?
But one thing was certain: this man’s looks were dangerously tempting.
