Chapter 146: _ Let Me Love You

I was sitting but it seemed like I was on my toes, anticipation buzzed through my veins. But then, with a teasing chuckle, he pulled the glass away.

"Such a clumsy wolf," he murmured, his dark eyes gleaming with amusement.

It was then I felt a bead of water clung to the corner of my lips. He reached out his thumb and brushed it against the wet spot with a deliberate slowness that sent shivers down my spine.

"Seems I’ll have to mend that mistake." He groaned as though this was such heavy work, his gaze dropping to my lips.

Before I could even stammer a reply, his face dipped towards mine. And then, his lips met mine.

The kiss came as demanding as always. It came as a possession. His lips were firm, almost harsh, yet there was an undercurrent of tenderness in them that left me breathless.

I melted into his touch, all thoughts of resistance forgotten if I even had any. My arms instinctively wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer. His scent– a mix of battle, sweat, and something uniquely him, filled my senses.

It was intoxicating like a heady cocktail that fueled the fire igniting within me.

The kiss deepened with his tongue tracing zig zag lines against mine but sending jolts of electrifying pleasure down my spine. A low moan escaped my lips.

"Damn you, Isleen. You shouldn’t have done that." He moaned back into my mouth.

It seemed my moan had ignited a new spark within him. Maybe I wanted it to.

Maybe I wanted more. Give me more, Rhett. I was done with waiting.

His grip on my waist tightened, pulling me flush against his hard body. I pulled him even closer and closer, willing myself to become one with him.

What was this pleasure? What was this feeling?

Why did it seem like Gamma Rhett knew that pathway to heaven? Every time he kissed me, I never failed to catch a glimpse of paradise.

Suddenly, he pulled away abruptly, leaving me breathless and yearning for more. His eyes were dark with desire and his chest heaving with ragged breaths.

"This," he licked his lips like a manaic, "is just a taste of what could be. And I swear to you, Isleen, if you don’t return to sleep now, I will carry you in my hands to my room and pounce my tiredness, frustration, and grief into you until your moans make me forget my worries.

My head spun.

Where in hell’s name did Rhett know to talk like this? Didn’t he know what his words were doing to me?

His words were like a delicious torment. They were like a promise of something both forbidden and thrilling. But before I could respond, a loud groan echoed from him.

"Should it have been that we were alone, I might have fixed you against that slab and drilled you from behind." He kissed my lips briefly. "But let’s respect my son."

I was about to nod when he continued. "Where is our relationship leading, Isleen?" He asked.
