Chapter 211: Playing Along

The next day, Fergus accompanied a frustrated Kylo to the pack’s station. Once they got there, they met a crowd comprising of wolves and some fey, waiting outside patiently for the Gamma and Beta.

However, no sooner had they gotten there than when a rather pompous wolf and a fey had an altercation. The wolf seemed bent on proving a point, accusing Fey of causing the war with the vampires.

Fool!

Even if the fey hadn’t involved themselves, the dark lord had always had his sights on every supernatural race on Earth. They never wanted to stop at just the humans. Their aim was complete world domination!

After the Gamma and Beta had arrived and broken up the argument before it escalated, the latter ended up punishing him and Kylo to do five hundred push-ups once they got to the camp.

Hmph! He’ll make sure to include the irritating Beta on his list of targets.

After they got to the camp and completed their punishment, Fergus got to meet their tent mates. A wolf and a fairy. However, their ’bonding moment’ was short-lived when IT finally happened. His brethren were attacking the camp!

Delicious! Sweet, sweet chaos!

Fergus reveled in the terrified screams of the men outside their tent as they scurried about to get away from the mysterious figures lurking in the shadows.

It was evening and the sun had just begun setting, but the tall trees in the woods surrounding the camp provided much-needed shade for the vampires against the receding sunlight.

Fergus watched with hidden amusement as Kylo tried giving orders to the tent mates. But he didn’t let it show on his face, as he managed to have a shocked and scared expression at the same time.

"Celest, can you cast any protection spells on our tent?" Kylo asked the fairy in a panic.

The fairy nodded, showing that he could. Fergus scoffed internally. He might just use this attack to his advantage.

Just then, he was able to pick up some footsteps, followed by the sound of rustling leaves. And then, when they heard the bone-chilling screech coming from the entrance of the tent, Fergus couldn’t help smirking secretly to himself. Perfect!

A vampire showed itself not long after, baring his fangs at the group. His red eyes scanned through all their faces, before landing on Fergus’s. He tilted his head, looking confused at first.

"Guys, hold! Stay calm." Kylo uttered, his voice shaking with apprehension as he slowly backed away from the vampire.

The vampire seemed to finally come to a decision, as he lunged at Fergus. It couldn’t sense the vampire aura hidden underneath Cullen’s skin, and he honestly couldn’t blame him. His shapeshifting abilities were just THAT good.

However, he managed to remain calm even in the face of uncertainty, standing still with both his hands relaxing beside him. Time seemed to stop as he watched the vampire move toward him. To other creatures, a vampire’s movement couldn’t be followed with the naked eye. But to him... it was a piece of cake.

Suddenly, Fergus heard a growl, followed by a white wolf pouncing on the vampire from its side. It happened all so fast, even from his perspective, but he was able to guess who that was instantly.
