"I am the chosen one." Rhett blurted out solemnly.

I drew in a deep breath as I watched the reactions of everyone present. Alpha Beowulf and Luna Dawn gave each other silent glances before the former turned back to Rhett.

"You? Chosen by the moon goddess?" He repeated, his tone sounding skeptical. "But... But why didn’t you tell us all this while?"

My eyes moved to the fairy Queen, and unlike everyone else, she seemed rather calm. She tilted her head, staring curiously at Rhett as he replied to the Alpha’s question.

"Simple. Because she told me to reveal myself only after someone else, someone... Powerful, has revealed the prophecy of the chosen one." He paused, turning his gaze to the fairy Queen.

All eyes subconsciously turned to her as well, as if waiting for her confirmation or for her to say something.

She cleared her throat before speaking. "There is one way for me to know if you’re the chosen one or not." She revealed, flying toward Rhett and leaving a trail of magic dust behind her as she did. "Like all fairies, magic is my blood. I can use that connection to sense any celestial magic residue within you."

She brought out her hand, placing it on his head. She closed her eyes and at that moment, it felt like time had slowed down as everyone kept silent in anticipation.

Eventually, after what felt like an eternity, she opened her eyes. "He’s right. He really is the chosen one. He’s interacted several times with celestial magic."

Alpha Beowulf was hysterical. "W–what does that mean? How has he interacted with celestial magic?"

The fairy Queen turned away from Rhett before speaking calmly. "Celestial magic is the power used by most gods and goddesses. The moon goddess’ celestial magic, in particular, is very distinct. As for how he got to interact with it... She probably appears in his dreams."

The fairy leader sure was patient. While the Alpha questioned her, not once did her tone change or did she become aggressive toward him.

"Anyways." The Fairy Queen clasped her palms together before Alpha Beowulf could ask any more questions. "The chosen one’s safety shall now become the Fey’s responsibility. I’ll discuss with the elven king to allocate more soldiers from his side to come here. I’ll also be sending my people too."

My brows creased into a frown as I mustered up the courage to ask. "Why? Are the vampires aware of the chosen one’s existence?"

This was becoming more and more complicated. I couldn’t help worrying about Rhett’s safety as my eyes met his. His eyes were calm, but hidden within them were a myriad of emotions.

He gave me a reassuring nod just as the fairy Queen responded to my question. "I’m uncertain if the vampires are aware of his existence, but then again, the vampire Lord is not to be underestimated. If he finds out that there’s someone capable of killing him, he will go all out to destroy them. He has reigned at the top of the supernatural food chain for thousands of years and wouldn’t be willing to have that position threatened."

I drew in a deep breath. The shapeshifting vampire was already a big enough threat and now there was a chance that the vampire Lord himself was after Rhett.

"I think it’s best if we continue our discussion inside." Alpha Beowulf spoke cautiously, his eyes darting around suspiciously.
