Fergus
~~
The mission must go on. He was left alone now but he wouldn’t let that stop him. He had always loved working alone. He only needed the others for this particular attack.
He never wanted to bring Cherul with him but she wouldn’t stay alone without him. She wanted to be here. He brought her here and now she was...
He needed to strike now, he thought. While the pack soldiers would be busy with tending to the crime scene and saving their injured, he should strike now.
And thus, he waited for his leg to fully heal which didn’t take too long. After that, he jumped down from the tree and made his way back to the pack. He only had the night until he stole someone’s skin and shifted.
He walked through the woods, smashing his legs on every frog that he came across in anger. He was too enraged that he needed to vent. Those silly frogs paid for it.
The moment he got into the pack’s main areas, he could already hear the noises and tension in the air. Fergus hid behind a house and waited until the coast was clear before he sped and hid behind another.
He stood there, head straining out. He couldn’t risk being detected.
"Let’s go! Let’s go!"
"Move!"
"Hurry!"
The soldiers would call as they marched on. As for Fergus, he knew exactly where he was going. When he was sure that the way was secluded enough for him to speed through and never wait until he arrived at his destination, a voice rang behind him.
"What are you doing hiding like that?"
At that moment, he froze. Nah. He needed to finish this off as silently as he could. The difference between vampires and wolves appearance was so clear that it could be detected any day and time.
The main one was the skin color. Whoever it was, they’d know he was a vampire by a single glance. "What are you doing?" Fergus threw the question back at the person whoever they were.
"I am looking for my family." Answered the person.
Fergus nodded, back still turned to him. "Why not go file a report instead of wandering around like this? Don’t you know it’s not so safe now?"
"There’s a reason why I can’t file a reason and it’s none of your concern. Now, answer me. What are you doing?"
"Urh —" Fergus began, readying himself to attack. "I am one of the survivors of the attack at the restaurant." He straightened, baring his fangs. "I erh — am still scared. What if there are vampires lurking around, you know? I don’t want to step out of hiding. I can’t step out of hiding."
"Oh, that’s bad. I’m so sorry you had to witness that but I doubt there are still any vampires around. I heard the pack’s soldiers got them already." Came the reply.
