Moonlight In Chains (Trinity and Asher) novel Chapter 23

CHAPTER 23

I was in complete shock as Nicole had slapped me without saying anything, and before I even had a chance to react Gage had run across the room and slammed Nicole against the wall with his

hand around her neck.

What the f**k is the matter with you?Gage yelled.

She’s the reason for all of this. She’s done this to the pack. She deserves more than a slap.Nicole

yelled.

She has more right being here than you do. If you ever f*****g touch her again I will rip your throat out. Do you f*****g understand me?Gage growled.

The commotion caused Asher, Alpha Dennis and Luna Petra to run into the room.

What’s going on?Alpha Dennis asked.

She just hit Trinity for no f*****g reason.Gage growled.

Suddenly I felt Luna Petra’s hands on my arms, trying to comfort me.

She deserves it. She’s the reason why the whole pack is turned upside down.” Nicole said, trying

to defend her actions.

I think you better leave Nicole.Alpha Dennis said. But she looked at Arlo.

Arlo. Are you going to say anything?Nicole asked.

Dad told you to leave. You better leave. I’ll call you later.Arlo said.

So Gage let go of Nicole and she grabbed her bag and stormed out of the packhouse and

slammed the door.

Everyone looked at me and I was trying to hold in my emotions but I just walked in the other

direction.

I walked through the kitchen and out the back of the packhouse to the back door.

I stood there staring out at the pack that I could see from where I was standing and I could see that there was a lot of commotion in town.

Warriors were searching every inch of this town looking for my parents. Which included people’s houses. It was all because of me.

Gage tried to come out and talk to me, but I just shrugged him off and walked further away

the house.

I didn’t want to talk to anyone right now. It’s not like it was the first time I had ever been hit. I knew that people were going to blame me for this. It was only natural.

They were looking for my family, but not for me. The pack wasn’t stupid. They will put it together eventually. And unfortunately, they are starting to put it together a lot sooner than I thought they

would.

I didn’t want to be seen as a victim. But I also didn’t want people to blame me for what happened. I

didn’t want to be the villain in their story.

I knew that they would blame me. Especially the ones that were really close to my parents and Spencer. So I guess I could expect this kind of treatment from a few people.

I don’t think there’s even any point in me going into town for a while. Not with everyone staring and

pointing at me and whispering behind my back.

That was the one downfall of a wolf pack. They are so small that word gets around so quickly

about s**t that you really want to keep buried.

When I went back to the house I walked up the backstairs so I could avoid everyone in the house

and I went to my bedroom and closed the door.

Unfortunately the door wouldn’t lock so I had to keep an eye on it, but I knew that no one would

come in without knocking.

I decided that I was going to try and stop thinking about everything that happened today and I looked at my school books again. Trying to distract myself from real life for a little while.

I was called down to dinner later on that day but I simply told them that I wasn’t hungry. So I stayed in my room and I went to have a shower and I got dressed for bed.

I sat on the bed with my tablet and I started looking at yout**e videos for exercise and fighting.

I saved the ones that I thought looked really good and I did mostly research that night.

As I was sitting on my bed I heard someone knock on the door so I turned my tablet off and I got

up to answer it.

Gage was standing there with a tray of food.

When I said that I wasn’t hungry, I really meant it.I said.

I know you did. That’s what worried me. I’m staying here until you have something to eat. You

can’t starve yourself. He said, walking into my room.

Skipping one meal isn’t starving myself. Believe me, I’ve gone longer without food.” I said.

I know. And how much do you weigh? He asked.

That’s none of your f*****g business.I said, closing the door. But he placed the tray on my desk

and turned to look at me.

I’m not trying to be rude. You’re 6 feet tall. How much do you weigh? He asked.

I looked at the seriousness in his voice and I knew that he wasn’t going to let this go.

120 pounds.I answered. And he raised his eyebrows.

That’s what a 12 year old weighs. You are way too skinny for your height. You need to put on

weight otherwise you will get sick. And honestly, I’ve never actually seen an anorexic werewolf

before, so I can only imagine that it doesn’t look too good.He said.

I don’t care how I look.I said.

We do. The whole family does. So, sit down and eat something. He said.

I knew that he wasn’t going to leave until I actually did what he said. So I sat down at the desk and I

started looking at the food that was in front of me.

There was a lot of food there and I knew that I wasn’t going to eat it all. But I was prepared to eat a

little bit of it. They all knew that I didn’t have a werewolf appetite. And that is purely by survival. I had to start eating less just so I could learn to function because I never knew when my next meal

was going to be.

Gage sat there watching TV with me while I was eating and by the time I was full, Gage seemed satisfied so he took the tray downstairs but he soon returned because he wanted to watch the rest
