CHAPTER 24
The whole weekend went by really slowly because I decided to barely walk out of my bedroom.
But as soon as Monday came, I knew that I couldn’t stay locked up in my room today.
I was meant to be working, but since I didn’t have a job anymore it meant that I needed a new
source of income and I used my days off to rearrange my schedule at college.
I thought it would be better to change my schedule so no one other than the Alpha family actually knew where I was going to be on any given day.
I know my family was keeping an eye on me while I was living with them so they knew when I
worked and they knew when I had classes.
But now, it was best to change things so they couldn’t try to predict anything.
I got up that morning and I had a shower and got dressed.
I went down for breakfast, but again, I only ate a little bit.
Everyone saw my school bag sitting on the floor and they looked at each other strangely at first.
“So, you’re going to school today?” Luna Petra asked.
“Yeah. I did let you all know that I changed my schedule at school. It’s different from what my
parents know so it’ll be harder if they try to pull anything.” I said.
“How are you getting there?” Alpha Dennis asked.
“I’m gonna go and pick up my car from the house.” I said.
“You’re not driving that piece of shit.” Gage insisted.
“Well, how else am I going to get there? It’s the only car I have.” I said.
“Gage is going to go with you today. He’s not training and he will be there while you’ve got class.”
Luna Petra said.
I looked over at Asher and he kept his head down while he was eating. Obviously not trying to
show how pissed off he was about the whole situation.
“I can’t ask him to do that. I usually like to hang out with my friends at school. I get lunch with them
in the cafeteria.” I said.
“That’s fine. I’ll tag along. Just introduce me as your friend.” Gage said.
I knew that everyone was going to think that he was more than a friend. But on the plus side, I

knew that a lot of girls at school were going to love him.

He was tall, he was ripped, he was really good looking and confident. Maybe he might actually meet someone knew. Someone that he likes more than me.
This could actually be a good thing. So I didn’t argue with it anymore.
I was going to introduce him to all of the best looking girls that I know and hopefully he would spark up some kind of friendship at the very least that could lead into something else.
That might put Asher at ease a little bit since we agreed that it was best to keep us a secret.
I still wasn’t sure why we were doing that. I could only assume that Asher didn’t want to rock the boat. His father still seemed to be putting him down a lot.
I know that his father has always been nicer to the twins for some reason. I never knew why.
“Asher. What do you have planned for today?” I asked, trying to change the subject.
“I have to supervise training this morning and then I have to visit a few businesses around town.
The ones that have put in grievances of some kind and try to sort them out.” Asher said, still not looking at me and focusing on his food.
“Damn. Good luck with that. A lot of people in this pack b***h about crap.” I said.
“Yeah. It’ll be interesting.” Asher said.
“It’ll be more interesting to see how Asher deals with it.” Alpha Dennis said.
Asher stopped eating for a moment, noticing the jab that his father just made at him. So I decided
to stay quiet about everything else.
When breakfast was over, Gage and I left the packhouse and we left the territory but I noticed one
car following us.
“Do we need to be worried about them?” I asked.
“No. They’re with us. Extra protection.” Gage said.
“I don’t want a heap of warriors hanging around school and scaring people.” I said.
“They’re gonna stay out of sight but close while you’re in class. Just in case.” He said.
“Okay. Make sure that they do.” I said.
We kept driving when I checked my bag to make sure that I had everything I needed and I was
mainly looking out the window for most of the drive.
“Are you alright?” Gage asked.

“Yeah, why?” I asked.
“Because you’re usually a lot more talkative than this.” Gage said.
“Yeah. I’ve just got a lot on my mind.” I said.

“Don’t worry. You’ve got no visible marks now. Just make up some bullshit about your wrist being
plastered up.” He said.
“I’m just gonna say that I fell down the stairs. It’s not complete bullshit.” I said.
“Fair enough. What’s the ratio of werewolves to humans at this college?” He asked.
“From what I’ve seen it’s about 50/50. It’s a popular college for werewolves because we’re close.
Just in case they need care from a werewolf.” I explained.
“That makes sense. I’m glad that people think they can come to us for that sort of stuff. Even
though they don’t belong to our pack. He said.
“Well, you guys have a good reputation. With the occasional asshole.” I said.
“Your parents aren’t going to be stupid enough to come back. And we’ll make sure that they don’t. If they even attempt to come near the pack, our warriors will see them. I promise. We’re going to keep you safe.” Gage insisted.
“I know. I’m not really worried about them. Not at the moment anyway. It would be stupid for them to come anywhere near me.” I said.
“Yeah. I guess so.” He said.
When we finally got to school we got out of the car and I saw a lot of people looking our way.
Gage was looking around. I could tell that he was trying to determine who was human and who was werewolf. Everyone’s scent was mixed together and it was a little harder to tell. But it gets easier the more you come to this school.
But I saw a group of werewolves standing off to the side under a tree before their classes started
so I took Gage over to them.
“Hey guys.” I said.
“Trinity. We’ve been wondering where you were. What happened?” Preston asked.
“Stupid accident. I woke up in the middle of the night needing a drink and I was half asleep. I ended up falling down the stairs.” I said.
“Ouch.” He said.

“Yeah. Like I said, stupid.” I said.
“And who is this?” Holly asked, batting her eyes at Gage.
“Oh, this is Gage. I’ve told you all about him.” I said.
“Right. The best friend who is the Alpha’s son.” Holly said.
“That’s right. Gage, this is Preston, Holly, Bianca, Macie and Carson.” I introduced.
“Hi.” Gage said.
“It’s nice to finally meet you.” Holly said.

“Actually, I have class right now. Do you guys think you could keep him company while I’m there?” I
