Elsewhere, Levi and the others were still awake.

Levi hadn’t deliberately tracked what was happening around Maggie, but he’d seen bits and pieces.

When he noticed that Maggie and Johnny had turned in, a thought struck him. In the group chat, he @mentioned Franklin “Asleep?”

No reply.

Levi didn’t mind and quickly sent a second message: “What’s Isabella been up to these two days?”

Harry and Julia were awake as well; the moment Levi posted, they saw it.

After reading, Harry asked quietly, “Why bring up Isabella all of a sudden?”

Levi lowered his voice. “You noticed Maggie tonight too, right? She and Johnny are really tight. They were singing together, watching the show together, catching fireflies–having a blast. Before, at something like this, she’d definitely have brought Isabella along. But now… it’s like she only has Johnny in her heart.”

Harry paused, unsure how to respond.

Seeing Franklin still hadn’t replied, Levi turned to Julia. “Is he asleep?”

Julia was also watching the chat. She was about to answer when a notification popped up.

Franklin:Not yet. Isabella’s been at home. Why?

Julia’s fingers stilled.

The night had been unbearably dull for her; she had messaged Franklin earlier, and he hadn’t answered–busy, presumably.

Now, seeing him respond to Levi, she tightened her grip on her phone.

At that moment, Franklin finally replied to her private message:“Just finished. What’s up?”

It took her a few seconds to respond:“Nothing. Just bored.”

Back in the group chat, Levi was already typing away–repeating what he’d just told Harry:

“You know Maggie’s here, right? She’s so happy tonight. Great lineup over there. But if you were around, you’d bring Isabella too, right? She didn’t even seem to think of Isabella. It’s like she’s really cutting ties with the past and throwing herself into a new life with Johnny.”

Franklin:Mm.

Levi:“…”

Fair enough.

It was about what Levi had expected. In his view, Franklin didn’t care about Maggie anymore; whether she truly wanted to divorce and start anew or

not–none of it mattered to him.

Harry and Julia both clocked Franklin’s reaction.

It didn’t surprise Harry.

It did surprise Julia a little.

Levi started charting with him.

The next morning, Jimmy–an early riser–was up before dawn

After washing up, he took a short walk. On his way back as daylight broke, he ran straight into Julia, who had just stepped out for a stroll.

She paused and nodded a greeting. “Morning,”

“Morning.” Jimmy said.

Julia meant to say more, but Jimmy’s gaze flicked toward Maggie’s tent. Seeing that Maggie was up as well he gave Julia a brief nod and headed straight in that direction–leaving Julia standing there, her conversation never getting off the ground.
