My Great Escape Led Me to You (Emily Blair) novel Chapter 923

“Emily Blair… Emily Blair… Emily Blair…”

Tristan whispered her name right in her ear, his voice growing louder, his grin stretching wider with every syllable.

The tension that had gripped him faded away like a receding tide, replaced by excitement that seemed to spark in his bones and a wild joy that crashed down on him, nearly dizzying. He wanted nothing more than to pull her close and never let go, her name tumbling from his lips over and over.

Hearing him repeat her name made Emily’s ears grow warm. She hunched her shoulders and muttered, “Tristan, stop it already.”

But Tristan’s hands found her shoulders, gently but insistently pressing her back against the car seat.

Emily braced her hands against his shoulders, her gaze meeting his—eyes sparkling with laughter. She bit her lip. “Tristan, what are you doing? Get off.”

He just smiled, lowering his head.

She squeezed her eyes shut, holding her breath as his warm breath brushed her forehead—and then, soft lips landed there, lingering for a few heartbeats before pulling away.

But a moment later, his lips found hers.

Tristan’s breath was rough, his tongue teasing her lips apart, tangling with hers, the taste of him dizzying. Emily’s hands slid up over his shoulders, wrapping around his neck as she parted her lips, eyes closed, kissing him back.

He held her tighter, the air between them charged, his kisses growing more confident, more urgent.

The only sounds in the car were the slick, breathless noises between them. Emily’s cheeks burned; her heart raced. When she nipped at his lip, he finally pulled back a little.

She managed, voice muffled, “Okay, Tristan, that’s enough.”

But he only deepened the kiss once more before finally letting her go.

Emily opened her eyes slowly, meeting the bright happiness in Tristan’s gaze.

He dropped a few light kisses on her lips, grinning so brightly she had to look away, trying to regain her composure. “You’re awfully happy, aren’t you?” she teased.

“I am,” Tristan replied, laughter in his voice. “My girlfriend.”

She stilled, then gave a tiny huff, pushing at him. “Alright, get off—you’re crushing me.”

He stole one more kiss, then helped her sit up.
