**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen 108**
**Overwhelming Superiority**
At last, she found herself whispering softly, “But I never anticipated that Luna would also be at the restaurant tonight. I can’t shake this nagging feeling that the incident with the bill wasn’t just a coincidence.”
Micah’s lips curled into a cold, imperceptible sneer.
Of course, it was anything but a coincidence.
In his previous life, after he had taken it upon himself to avenge Oriana, those five men had descended into madness, obsessively targeting him and demanding that he pay for Luna’s death. Leo, Arthur, Ethan—Lily’s brother—and Oscar, who had already aligned himself with Grant, were among that vengeful group.
After his rebirth, he had meticulously investigated their network, piecing together the connections that had formed over the years.
These five had grown up together, bound by a brotherhood that ran deep.
Yet, until Luna’s arrival in Jindiwood, they had never crossed paths with her.
What had sparked this sudden shift in their loyalties? What had transpired that he was unaware of…?
But at this moment, none of that mattered. With him present, he would ensure that Oriana would not endure even the slightest hint of injustice.
Initially, the knowledge that Oriana had become friends and colleagues with Lily had made Micah feel a twinge of apprehension.
However, it had become increasingly clear that Lily lacked any malicious intent.
What truly mattered was that Oriana cherished Lily’s friendship, and so Micah resolved to accept it without reservation.
Gathering his thoughts, he raised his hand and gently took Oriana’s towel, tenderly wiping her hair. “Don’t overthink it. If you have a craving for something, just let me know. I’ll whip it up for you.”
Lily, unable to contain herself, interjected softly, “No offense intended, Mr. Caldwell, but the dishes at Refe are truly one-of-a-kind, and the flavors are unlike anything else. There’s really no restaurant in Jindiwood that can compete with it. Skipping it would be such a shame…”
Emerging from beneath the towel, Oriana chimed in, “Exactly! Aside from the awkwardness with the bill, the food tonight was fantastic. I was hoping to bring you along next time.”
“Is that so?” Micah replied, nodding thoughtfully. “Then I would love to join you and experience it for myself.”
“Mm, mm!” Oriana beamed, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
A gentle smile graced Micah’s lips, but his gaze inadvertently drifted toward Kieran, who was focused intently on the road ahead.
Kieran instantly grasped the unspoken message.
It was no surprise, he mused. Micah’s intention was either to establish a rival to Refe or to outright acquire it.
As they passed by the mall, a vibrant advertisement flashed across the screen.
“Grant is leading a new team to unveil a groundbreaking humanoid robot product, integrating the Aurora thinking model, boasting an unprecedented 24 joints for the highest degree of freedom.”
Oriana’s eyes widened in realization. No wonder Grant looked so triumphant; his career had taken a significant leap forward.
