**Chapter 111: Playing With Fire**
As Oriana toyed with the soft, fuzzy tentacle of her plush octopus, a restless feeling stirred within her heart, a sensation that felt both exhilarating and unsettling. It was as if a tiny spark had ignited, and she couldn’t quite extinguish it.
After a moment of hesitation, she decided to reach out. With a few swift taps on her phone, she sent a message to Zara that read, “Zara, tell me, what does it mean if someone keeps… zapping you?”
Almost instantly, her screen lit up with a video call from Zara. The urgency in her friend’s voice was unmistakable. “What do you mean? You got electrocuted? Let me see—are you crispy?” Zara’s face filled the screen, her eyes wide with concern and a hint of panic.
Oriana, clutching her plush octopus tightly, sat up straight. “It didn’t burn anything on the outside…” she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
“What? It burned you inside? Girl, get to a hospital right now!” Zara exclaimed, her alarm palpable.
“Zara…” Oriana sighed, the weight of her emotions pressing down on her as she fiddled with the octopus’s tentacle, her fingers nervously tapping at the screen.
After what felt like an eternity of silence, she finally decided to let it all out. “Okay, fine. I’ll tell you everything.” She recounted the moments when Micah had sent electric jolts through her heart, each memory vivid and tinged with a warmth that made her cheeks flush.
As the words flowed, she felt a peculiar shyness wash over her. The room was so still that she instinctively lowered her voice, not out of fear of Micah overhearing, but because she dreaded the thought of Chubby, her ever-watchful little robot companion, catching wind of her feelings. That little snitch could ruin everything.
If Micah ever found out what she was feeling… Oriana shivered at the thought, her scalp prickling with anxiety.
Zara, observing Oriana’s rosy cheeks, couldn’t help but smack her own forehead in disbelief. “It’s over. You’re done for. You’re in love!” she declared, her tone a mix of excitement and mock exasperation.
“Huh? Me?” Oriana replied, her eyes widening in surprise.
Seeing Oriana in such a dreamy state made Zara feel as if someone had snatched her favorite person right from under her nose. “Seriously? You’ve been in a three-year relationship—even if it was a complete disaster. And you’re asking me for advice? A lifelong single? How is that fair?”
Zara couldn’t contain her laughter. “Last time I asked if you could hold out without falling, and now look at you. Just a few days later and you’re completely fried!”
Oriana giggled, her heart fluttering at the playful banter. “It’s not like that. I just never felt this way before… It feels kind of magical,” she admitted, her voice softening as she reflected on her emotions.
