My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart novel Chapter 24

**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen**
**Chapter 24: Oriana Leaves**

“Alright, be careful out there. And whatever you do, don’t let Grant drag you back into his mess again,” Zara cautioned, her voice laced with concern.

Oriana cast her eyes downward, tracing the faint scratches that marred the back of her hand. “He won’t come looking for me today,” she murmured, the words barely escaping her lips, a fragile hope hanging in the air.

Once she arrived back at her apartment, a familiar sense of solitude enveloped her. She methodically disinfected her wounds with hydrogen peroxide, wincing slightly at the sting, before carefully applying simple bandages. Each movement felt like a ritual, a way to reclaim her space and her strength. With a deep breath, Oriana made her way toward her room, but then hesitated. A sudden thought struck her. She unplugged the surveillance system in the living room, a small act of defiance before she hurriedly finished packing the last of her belongings.

At the hospital, the doctor worked diligently, wiping away the remnants of blood from Luna’s wound. The stitches were nearly healed, a testament to her resilience, though the memory of the incident lingered like a shadow.

Luna stood there, a mix of hesitation and determination in her eyes as they flicked toward Grant, who was observing her with an intensity that made her heart race. She felt small and vulnerable, lowering her head like a neglected pet seeking forgiveness. “I’m so sorry, Grant. It was my fault. I didn’t mean to create a rift between you and Oriana,” she confessed, her voice trembling slightly.

Grant pinched the bridge of his nose, frustration etched across his features. “It’s not your fault, Luna. She acted with malice,” he replied, his tone firm yet tinged with an undercurrent of concern.

Luna’s eyes flashed with a dangerous glint at the thought of Oriana daring to strike her. A mix of anger and indignation surged within her. Biting her lip, she added, “Don’t worry, Grant. I promise I won’t tell Dad, Mom, or Owen about what happened today. They’ve always had a tense relationship with Oriana; I won’t do anything to make them dislike her even more.”

Grant lowered his hand, taking a moment to observe the now-calm Luna. She looked serene and beautiful, a stark contrast to the turmoil that had just unfolded. In that moment, she seemed to overlap with the gentle, resilient shadow she once was, and he felt a twinge of disorientation at the shift.

“Grant, there’s not much time left. I’ll go apologize to Oriana so she’ll agree to accompany you to the signing,” Luna declared, urgency lacing her words.

“No need,” Grant replied, glancing at the notification blinking on his phone from the surveillance system. He knew Oriana had already returned to her apartment, and after what had transpired, she had likely gone home with a calm demeanor that unsettled him.

“I’ll have Alaric bring you a new dress,” he murmured, a hint of softness in his voice. “Just stay with me for now. Today should have been your moment in the spotlight. I was foolish to act as I did.”

He realized he had made a mistake by bringing Oriana out; he had wanted her to experience the world, but all she truly needed was to live quietly under his protection.

Luna’s expression brightened, her eyes sparkling with delight and affection. “Alright, I’ll do as you say, Grant,” she replied, her voice filled with warmth.

At the airport, Oriana and Zara embraced tightly upon seeing each other, the world around them fading into the background. In that moment, Oriana felt a sense of reality wash over her like a warm tide.

“I feel at ease now that I’m with you,” Zara said, her smile infectious.

Oriana returned the gesture, her heart swelling. “Me too.”
