My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart novel Chapter 27

**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen**
**Chapter 27: Capturing Moments**

Had Oriana truly been waiting all this time for Grant to return and reconcile with her?

Did she even grasp how utterly misguided she was in this moment?

Grant couldn’t shake the feeling that he had been too accommodating to her over the past few days, which had only fueled her boldness.

He didn’t indulge in Luna’s pastry, opting instead to drain the glass of deep red wine in his hand, his expression taut with barely contained frustration.

“I’ll take you back after this,” Grant stated, his voice steady but laced with an undercurrent of tension.

A sly glimmer danced in Luna’s eyes, hinting at mischief.

Oriana assumed they would head straight back to their home, her mind racing with thoughts of what awaited them there.

But she was caught off guard when they veered off toward city hall.

Oriana blinked in disbelief, ensuring she wasn’t imagining things. Was this really city hall? It was nighttime, and she couldn’t fathom why they would be here at such an hour.

‘Are they really open this late?’ Oriana wondered, her mind racing.

She was well aware that the first step upon arriving in Jindiwood was to obtain the marriage license. But showing up in the dead of night for that? It seemed utterly absurd.

Kieran, ever the dutiful assistant, had already stepped out to open the car door for them. “Mrs. Caldwell, don’t fret. Mr. Caldwell submitted a special request, so they’ll process everything tonight,” he assured her, his tone calm and professional.

Oriana felt a wave of disbelief wash over her.

This was all so nonsensical.

As she dazedly observed the staff welcoming them, it dawned on her that Micah’s status wasn’t ordinary.

Just as she prepared to exit the vehicle, a folder was suddenly thrust into her arms.

Looking up in confusion, Oriana found Micah speaking in a low, soothing voice, “These are my medical reports and asset statements.”

She instinctively shook her head, feeling a sense of urgency. “No need for that.”

“I have a responsibility to ensure your peace of mind. You deserve to know this,” Micah replied, his tone firm yet gentle.

Oriana found herself lost in thought.

From the moment they met, Micah had made it a point to keep her informed. He had even flown to Seabar just to pick her up. Even before they arrived at the city hall, he had meticulously prepared all the necessary paperwork, each detail reflecting his unwavering care and consideration for her.

Oriana shook her head, trying to dismiss the thoughts swirling in her mind. Perhaps this was simply Micah’s natural courtesy and sophistication. She shouldn’t read too much into it.

“Be careful, I’ll help you,” Oriana said, her voice steady as she gathered her thoughts.

Kieran had already mingled with the staff ahead, leaving Oriana to navigate the situation with Micah.

As she nervously shifted to the other side of the car to assist him, she noticed Kieran opening his mouth to say something, but he stopped himself, sensing that Micah probably had some other plan in mind for Oriana. It was best to remain silent.

The car was parked outside, the office closed for the night. They had to enter through a back door, which felt both secretive and thrilling.

As they walked down a short, pitch-black path, Oriana stepped on a loose stone and nearly lost her footing. Micah reacted swiftly, his hand steadying her with a firm grip.

Regaining her balance, Oriana patted her chest, her heart racing as adrenaline coursed through her.

“Almost made you fall,” she said, her voice a mix of relief and embarrassment.

“No problem, just be more careful,” Micah replied, his voice calm and reassuring.
