My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart novel Chapter 31

**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen**

Micah’s grandfather, Noah Caldwell, erupted with a voice that boomed like thunder, filling the room with an intensity that was hard to ignore.

Micah, accustomed to the old man’s fiery temperament, responded with a sharp retort, his tone measured yet unwavering. “His youngest son is merely five years older than your great-grandson. You’re in better shape than he is—there’s still hope for you to have a son.”

Noah, visibly shaken and sputtering in indignation, stammered, “H—How dare you—”

“Calm down,” Micah interjected smoothly, cutting through the tension like a knife. “If you wish to discuss matters with me, I suggest you do so in the afternoon. Early mornings or late nights, when emotions are running high, aren’t good for your health. Keep an eye on that blood pressure of yours.” With that, he struck again, his words laced with both authority and concern.

Noah coughed furiously, his face a mask of rage, muttering curses under his breath before abruptly disconnecting the call.

Behind the door, Oriana stood frozen, her heart racing as the echoes of the conversation replayed in her mind. Just a few lines had struck her like arrows, piercing through her understanding of Micah.

He was always so gentle, polite, and thoughtful with her. How could he possess such a sharp tongue when it came to family matters?

Or perhaps this was the real Micah, the one hidden beneath layers of kindness?

Lost in her thoughts, Oriana barely noticed when the door swung open, her breath catching in her throat. She flinched, instinctively stepping aside as Micah entered, standing uncomfortably close.

His expression remained unchanged, a mask of calm as he walked past her without a hint of hesitation.

Oriana watched him leave, her heart pounding as she thought she had concealed herself well. Just as relief washed over her, Micah paused, tilting his head slightly in her direction. “What do you want for breakfast?”

A rush of embarrassment flooded her, and her scalp tingled as she forced a nervous laugh. “Y—You caught me?”

The words tumbled out, and she felt a wave of mortification wash over her.

Micah’s eyes, though blind, seemed to pierce through her. A flicker of concern crossed her mind—had she inadvertently hurt him with her careless words?

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to offend you, and I certainly wasn’t trying to eavesdrop on your family call. I—I just—”

She scrambled to clarify, anxiety gnawing at her insides as she worried that her thoughtless comment might have upset him.

Noticing the tension in her voice, Micah felt a flicker of something unexpected.

Did she actually care about him?

Yes, he pondered, perhaps she did.

A slight curve formed on Micah’s thin lips, and behind the dark lenses of his sunglasses, his usually cold eyes sparkled with a hint of amusement that Oriana couldn’t see.

He turned back toward her, closing the distance with deliberate steps, stopping just a foot away.

Oriana felt a rush of frustration and guilt swell within her. How could she have thought he wouldn’t notice her presence, even in his blindness? He had likely spent countless days and nights navigating this darkness, honing his other senses.

As she watched him raise his hand, she inhaled deeply and closed her eyes, bracing for an unexpected reprimand.

Instead, his palm rested gently on her head, dry and warm, his fingers brushing through her hair with a tenderness that took her by surprise.

Oriana had braced herself for a reprimand, only to find herself bewildered by his gentle touch. She opened her eyes, disbelief washing over her.
