Next Man, Better Plan novel Chapter 106

At this hour, the police station was filled with brawlers, thieves, and people settling petty disputes. Stephanie's arrival was like a splash of color in the drab environment.

When she pushed open the glass doors of the station, everyone seemed to brighten up, pausing what they were doing to cast stunned, admiring glances her way.

“I'm here to bail out Quennel.”

Hearing the familiar voice, Quennel turned his head, and froze the moment he saw Stephanie.

A look of astonishment crossed his face as he stared at her intently.

Dressed like that on a night like this, isn't she cold?

The officer handling the case softened his voice when he saw Stephanie. “Come with me.”

Stephanie followed the officer to handle the paperwork, never once looking at the two people on the bench.

Seeing Quennel's gaze fixed on Stephanie, Victoria bit her lip.

“Quennel, we interrupted Stephanie's date with Joseph. Do you think she's upset?” she said.

Date?

Quennel’s gaze turned colder. Did she really go on a date? Was this outfit for another man to see?

Just as Stephanie finished signing, an officer walked over to Quennel. “You two can leave.”

By then, Stephanie had already pushed open the glass doors and left.

Seeing this, Quennel quickened his pace and immediately went after her.

Victoria curled her fingers into a fist but had no choice but to follow.

Stephanie stood outside the station, taking out her phone to call a cab.

Suddenly, a suit jacket was draped over her shoulders, carrying a faint, familiar scent.
