Next Man, Better Plan novel Chapter 157

A man who would even blame her for his own cheating... The Quennel she knew wasn't like this. When had he started to change?

Stephanie said coldly, "Get out of my way. I don't want to see you anymore! I don't want you anymore!"

"I've turned a blind eye to you and Joseph, so why are you so hung up on me and Victoria? Stephanie, stop making a scene!"

Seeing the change in Stephanie's expression, Quennel softened his tone. "Fine, I shouldn't have suspected you two. But I get jealous too! Stephanie, let's just call it even!"

Quennel had seen Joseph leaving this very complex with a suitcase that day.

The thought that they might have lived together made a fresh wave of irritation wash over him.

But he tried to convince himself that they hadn't slept together.

After all, Stephanie had lived with the Gonzalez family for seven or eight years, and he had never dared to touch her. Stephanie was very conservative; she knew her limits.

A man like Joseph didn't deserve her.

"I'm not making a scene. I'm telling you I don't want you anymore. Quennel, this is a breakup! It means we go our separate ways and never see each other again! Do you understand?"

Quennel strode forward, cupped Stephanie's face in his hands, and leaned in to kiss her.

Stephanie dodged him and, without hesitation, slapped him across the face. The sound was crisp and loud.

Never expecting the usually gentle Stephanie to strike him, Quennel's eyes turned crimson. He was a man of status, revered wherever he went. Besides his parents, no one had ever hit him like that.

Being slapped by a woman was humiliating, but Quennel quickly suppressed his anger.

"If you're angry, you can hit me. I'll let you. It's just us here, so you can do whatever you want in private."

He grabbed Stephanie's wrist and tried to pull her into his arms. "Now that you've hit me, let's say you've vented your anger. If it's not enough, hit me a few more times."
