Next Man, Better Plan novel Chapter 185

Perhaps because he’d grown accustomed to sleeping in a bed over the years, he spent the night tossing and turning on the floor, unable to find a comfortable position.

Staring up at the ceiling, Jonathan had a sudden thought: he was being a complete masochist.

Why was he sleeping on the floor when there was a perfectly good bed right there?

And now that he’d started this, would he be relegated to the floor for good?

Since he couldn’t sleep anyway, Jonathan picked up his phone and scrolled through it.

There were two messages from Tobias.

“Jonathan, you were so badass and cool today!”

“When are you going to bring Stephanie over so we can all officially meet her?”

Jonathan held his phone, initially typing out a reply that he’d arrange it in the next couple of days.

But then he remembered he didn't even have a say in where he slept, and he deleted the message.

He’d have to ask her first.

The next morning.

When Jonathan woke up, his body was stiff. He rolled his sore neck and sat up, glancing at the bed.

It was already empty.

He went back downstairs to his own room, changed his clothes, and when he came down again, Stephanie was already eating breakfast.

Jonathan approached her, knotting his tie as he walked.

Feeling a shadow fall over her, Stephanie looked up at him.

Beneath the perfectly tailored suit, she could just make out the lean lines of his muscles. The way he tied his tie was captivating, exuding a kind of restrained charm.

Stephanie greeted him first. “Morning.”
