Obedience No More He's the One I Deserved novel Chapter 259

Ethan's warm breath was right by her ear. Dawn couldn't stand the tickling and dodged while laughing. "Stop it. I have things to do today. We need to get up."

The more she said this, the more interested Ethan became.

He kept intermittently kissing her neck.

"What things?"

"Just ... haha, don't! It tickles! "

Dawn reached up to hold his chin still and said with unsteady breathing, "It's that clingy client. She wants me to go with her to deliver something."

Ethan's eyes darkened as he pulled her hand off his face.

"Why does she need you to go with her to deliver something? Don't go."

Dawn's eyes widened. "Ethan, don't tell me you're jealous of a woman?"

"Yeah."

Dawn couldn't believe it. Still saying yeah?

Ethan completely encircled her in his arms and spoke while nestled against her neck. "Honey, just stay home with me today, okay?"

She'd almost never seen him act clingy before. Dawn was still processing.

After a long moment, her soft voice carried a coaxing tone. "What if I come back early? I already agreed. It wouldn't be right to back out now."

Dawn broke free, washed up, and changed clothes. He was still on the bed, maintaining his previous position.

He propped himself up on his arm, his partially covered upper body showing defined muscles. Pure masculine energy.

Dawn looked for two seconds before reluctantly looking away.

"I'm leaving now."

Ethan lifted his eyelids and watched her walk out of the room.

After a minute passed, he suddenly lay back, staring at the ceiling, his eyes full of helplessness and frustration.

He took out his phone and called Tony. "Look into Roxanne's schedule today. See who she's meeting."

Tony paused. "Boss, Ms. West made an appointment today to see you."

Ethan's pupils contracted suddenly. "What?"

...

When Dawn got downstairs at the company, she saw Roxanne's car. She hadn't brought bodyguards or an assistant today and was personally sitting in the driver's seat.

"You're here."

She lifted her chin. "Get in."

Dawn paused before walking around the front and getting in the passenger seat.

The back seat was filled with neatly arranged shopping bags, all from that day at the mall.

She glanced and looked away, saying with a smile, "If I'm your friend, I'd definitely be very happy."

Roxanne started the engine and gave her a meaningful look. "Really?"

"I said, you must be pretty familiar with Jackson Group too, right?" Roxanne's eyes lit up a little. "One of the top companies in Northville. The person I like is the one who manages here."

Dawn's face paled a shade. She didn't speak.

How could she not know?

Being in business, even the most impulsive investment couldn't possibly be done without any background check. How could Roxanne not know that the real owner behind Dreammaker Studios was Ethan?

In a blink, they reached the floor. Roxanne moved with practiced ease. "Come on. I think their office layout is really interesting. We can get some ideas from it."

Not far away, Tony came out of the conference room and saw them. He was so startled he nearly stumbled.

What ... could someone tell me what was going on!

Ms. Porter, Ms. West ...

Isn't this a complete chaos?

Tony's scalp tingled, but he had no choice but to force himself forward. "Ms. West, Ms. Porter."

Roxanne smiled at him. "Where's your boss? I came to bring him something."

"The boss ... "

Tony's gaze swept across Dawn's face. That obvious dejection made his heart tremble.

It's over, it's over ...

Normally when Dawn was unhappy, he'd suffer the consequences. And today she was unhappy at the office. Would Ethan twist his head off and kick it like a ball?
