On the Ruins of His Regret I Soar novel Chapter 312

“I just don’t understand! I couldn’t let it go!” she wailed. “We wasted so many years. By the time I came back, you were already married to someone else. What did I do wrong? Why are you doing this to me?”

“But what did Jessica ever do wrong?” Lance’s voice was sharp.

Catherine’s sobs stopped abruptly, replaced by a wild, manic laugh. “You regret it. I knew you would. But it’s too late. You and Jessica are divorced. The man by her side now is a thousand times better than you. She will never look back. You’re destined to be strangers for the rest of your lives. In the end, I didn’t get what I wanted… and neither did you! Hahahaha!”

Lance called for the butler, who entered with two security guards. They pulled a screaming Catherine off him.

With his back to them, Lance spoke, each word a block of ice. “From this moment on, she is never to set foot in this house again. And she is never to go near Amy.”

The butler nodded, and Catherine was dragged out, her curses echoing down the hall.

Lance slowly sank to the floor, buried his head in his hands, and wept.

Six months later.

Melissa Gates was arrested for embezzling company funds, a scandal that sent her family’s live-streaming business into a nosedive. Jessica and Rebecca seized the opportunity, acquiring the company for a fraction of its worth and solidifying their position as leaders in the industry.

At the end of the workday, a courier delivered a bouquet of flowers. “For Ms. Brown.”

Jessica signed for them, then left the office with the flowers tucked under one arm and her purse in the other.

Outside, Anthony George was already waiting in his Maybach. A smile touched Jessica’s lips as she approached.

She slid into the passenger seat. “You were waiting right here and you still had a courier deliver flowers? Isn’t that a little excessive?”
