Once She Came Like a Flash novel Chapter 76

**TITLE: Faith Didn’t Survive Time – by Aadi Sharma**

**Chapter 76**

Although the ink had barely dried on the contract, Renee had already printed it a week prior. The date inscribed on the document was a testament to her meticulous planning and foresight.

Earlier that very morning, Irene had glanced over the contract, but her attention had strayed from the finer details. Little did she know, possessing that document would prove to be invaluable in the unfolding drama.

With a swift motion, she turned to the final page, where the signature was boldly scrawled alongside a vivid red thumbprint, unmistakably marking the agreement. It was an undeniable sight, impossible to overlook.

The air buzzed with anticipation as cameras clicked incessantly, reporters vying to capture every nuance of the moment. They were relentless, eager to document any hint of scandal.

In a sudden move, Adam snatched the contract from the table, his brow furrowed in disbelief as he scrutinized the paper as if it held the secrets of the universe. Turning to his mother, confusion painted across his face, he stammered, “Mom, what—”

“Enough!” Irene snapped, her voice cutting through the noise like a knife.

She was acutely aware of the questions swirling in Adam’s mind. He was undoubtedly wondering when the contract had been signed and why he had been left in the dark about such a significant development.

But she couldn’t allow him to voice those thoughts, especially not in front of the media, where every word could be twisted and turned against them.

Adam, ever the strategist, understood the importance of maintaining composure. Despite the storm of questions raging in his mind, he opted for silence, knowing that it was crucial to keep the situation from spiraling out of control.

With the press hanging on her every word, Irene projected confidence as she addressed them. “Renee may profess her love for my son, Adam, but let me assure you, she’s nothing more than a pretty face with no depth. In reality, she’s lazy, envious, and manipulative. My son reached his breaking point and filed for divorce. As for the poisoning incident at the orphanage, the investigation is still underway. However, if Renee is found to be involved, we cannot dismiss the possibility that this was a calculated act of vengeance.”

As she delivered her statement, she discreetly nudged Adam with her elbow and shot him a significant glance.

He caught her meaning immediately, feeling the weight of her unspoken words.

“Our foremost concern is the health of the children,” Adam interjected, his voice steady and resolute. “We do not wish to squander public resources on baseless rumors. Regardless of the investigation’s outcome, Graham Group is committed to donating 20 million dollars to the Nurture Children’s Welfare Center.”
