Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 133

Marico’s phone buzzed—it was a call from William.

He answered, not bothering with speakerphone, but Yvonne could still make out the report coming through loud and clear.

Xenia wasn’t in any danger of dying, but her face was badly injured. The prognosis wasn’t looking good.

Yvonne pursed her lips. Calling to give him an update so late at night? Maybe their relationship wasn’t as bad as it looked on the surface.

A wave of gloominess crept into Yvonne’s chest.

Suddenly feeling parched, she grabbed a white bottle from the table where Marico had set his things and twisted off the cap, tipping it straight back for a drink.

She’d argue with him after she got some water down, she thought.

“Alright, I understand,” Marico replied in a low, steady voice.

Maybe it was a twinge of jealousy, but Yvonne’s movements were so quick Marico didn’t have time to stop her.

She was about to down the entire bottle in one go.

The liquid burned as it slid down her throat, and Yvonne immediately regretted her decision.

She’d gulped too much, too fast.

This wasn’t water. It was alcohol.

She spluttered and coughed, pulling the bottle away to inspect it.

The label was in a language she couldn’t read, but the sharp tang of alcohol was unmistakable.

“This… is alcohol?”

“I wanted a drink. Just grabbed whatever was handy,” Marico replied, his earlier sternness dissolving as Yvonne’s antics yanked his attention away from everything else.

He snatched the minimalist-looking bottle from her hand.

Drinking during her period, this girl really didn’t have an ounce of common sense.

“Oh, alcohol… my god…” Yvonne, who had been all fired up to argue, suddenly felt her energy evaporate.

Her head started to spin.

One sip and she was thoroughly tipsy.

Marico let out a low chuckle, the sound rumbling from his chest. Yvonne giggled right back, intoxicated both by the alcohol and the moment.

“I heard you had a reunion today—lots of old admirers there, huh? Not planning to explain any of that to me?” he asked, since she clearly wasn’t going to bring it up herself.

His eyes, which had been so gentle a moment before, now narrowed, his brows drawing together in a demanding frown.

Yvonne stared at him, dazed, and completely missed the point. “Why are you looking at me like you’re about to eat me? Here, have a bite,” she said, shoving her pale little arm toward him.

Marico’s eyes darkened; he ducked his head and gave her arm a playful bite.

“Ow! What are you, a dog? Why are you biting me?” Yvonne yelped in confusion.

He hadn’t bitten her hard.

“Maybe now you’ll remember next time. You deserved that,” Marico said, his gaze serious as he scolded her.

“Hmph! You and Ms. White are classmates too, aren’t you? She gets hurt and you’re calling to check on her in the middle of the night—funny, you don’t seem to question yourself,” Yvonne pouted, cheeks puffed in drunken indignation.
