Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 41

Yvonne was firm—she refused to accept the money.

She was afraid that having too much would make her mistake comfort for love.

People can stay clear-headed in pain, but in love, it’s easy to lose yourself.

When Marico saw her message, he frowned and shot back: Don’t send it back! Don’t make me say it again.

His reply came in a second—punctuated with an exclamation point, dominant and commanding.

Yvonne could practically feel his irritation radiating through the phone; he was clearly annoyed by her stubbornness.

Not daring to argue further, she simply replied, Okay. This is more than enough. Don’t send any more—I could never spend it all.

He didn’t respond.

Yvonne could sense he was angry.

She didn’t dare say more, and just then, it was her turn in the lunch line. With trembling hands, she filled her tray.

As she ate, she chatted with Grace about the upcoming dinner with their potential business partners.

“Too bad it’s my boyfriend’s birthday tonight,” Nydia sighed, resting her chin on her fork. “Otherwise, I’d tag along and get a taste of the high life with you guys.”

“To be honest, these kinds of business dinners aren’t really suitable for young women anyway. This time, it’s only because Linda insisted we try to salvage the deal. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have agreed to let Yvonne go,” Grace said quietly.

“But we’re with the Hamilton Group. That should be fine, right?”

“The Hamilton Group has a great reputation, sure. But we’re just regular employees. Those mid-level bosses want to work with the Hamilton Group, but they’re always looking for shortcuts and perks,” Grace explained. Having worked her way up from the marketing department, she knew all too well the darker side of these events.

“I’ll be careful,” Yvonne murmured, glancing down at her buttoned-up shirt and slacks. Thankfully, she’d dressed conservatively today.

After lunch, Yvonne lay down on the fold-out cot in the break room for a quick nap, but her mind kept spinning with thoughts of that million dollars. Her heart thudded in her chest.

A little after five, Linda gathered Grace and Yvonne—time to head to the dinner.

Not far away, Tracy was about to hop into her boyfriend’s car when she heard voices behind her. She couldn’t resist turning for a look.

“Perry, isn’t that your dad?” she asked, spotting Owen, who was still holding onto a woman’s hand with a grin. And that woman—wasn’t it Yvonne?

So, she’s got herself a sugar daddy to fund that handsome husband of hers.

Tracy remembered Perry’s mother had passed away, and though his father had never remarried, he was never short on female company.

If Yvonne really became Perry’s stepmother, wouldn’t that make Tracy’s own path into the family even smoother?

“Babe, maybe you were a little too rough on me just now,” Tracy pouted as she settled into the passenger seat, her voice sweet and sultry. “I’m so sore… Can I skip class tonight?”

She leaned her cheek on Perry’s shoulder, one hand slipping under his shirt, her touch teasing and suggestive.

Perry felt a surge of heat at her touch, a wicked grin spreading across his face. “Alright, let me give you a proper massage, then.”

Tracy giggled, then said coyly, “Your dad’s right over there. Want to go say hi?”
