Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 88

“Of course! I think you’re so handsome, you’d look good in anything.” Yvonne’s sweet voice matched her earnest expression, her delicate features bright with sincerity.

Marico’s normally cool, handsome face softened a little, his composure almost breaking.

Seeing him gazing thoughtfully at the shirt in his hands, Yvonne stepped closer and said gently, “Let me wash it for you. If you like it, try it on. If not, you can just put it away.”

She unwrapped the package and held up the pale pink shirt against him, sizing it up with a critical eye.

“It looks great! You always wear black or white—switching things up once in a while gives you a really youthful vibe.” Yvonne’s clear eyes sparkled, clearly a little dazzled by the effect.

The soft pink was more typically associated with women, but on Marico—tall, striking, with a quietly confident air—it didn’t look effeminate at all. In fact, it softened his cool demeanor, making him look both charming and approachable.

Clean-cut, radiant—like the kind of guy everyone secretly crushed on back in school.

Marico caught Yvonne’s beaming smile, and somehow, the pink and blue shirts started to look a lot more appealing. “You really think it looks good?”

“Mhm, definitely,” Yvonne nodded, her fair cheeks glowing as her dark eyes blinked up at him, gleaming with excitement.

“Alright, go ahead and wash them,” Marico said, handing her both shirts. He crumpled up the packaging and tossed it into the bag, then turned and headed back to his room.

Yvonne hugged the shirts to her chest, watching his casual movements.

She wasn’t usually the type to get swept up in romantic fantasies, so why did everything Marico did seem so effortlessly charming?

Even the way he moved—casual, but thoughtful, and always with a hint of gentlemanly grace.

Her face felt suddenly warm as she hurried off to do the laundry, clutching the shirts like some kind of treasure.

She wasn’t sure if he’d actually wear them, but after washing and drying them, she took extra care to iron out every crease and hung them neatly in his closet.

Among all the crisp black and white business shirts, those two pastel colors stood out like splashes of sunlight in a shadowed room.

Once everything was tidied away, Yvonne retreated to her own room to rest.

They kept to themselves, each enjoying their own space. Nights like this felt peaceful, safe—like the world had finally quieted down.

The next morning.

Yvonne hadn’t slept well, so she woke up later than usual.

After washing up, she grabbed her purse and headed downstairs—only to be greeted by an unexpected and dazzling sight in the dining room.

“Morning! You’re really wearing it!” Yvonne’s voice was sweeter than usual, surprise mixing with delight as she spotted Marico in the pink shirt.

Her eyes went wide, shining with a mix of disbelief and barely contained joy.

Trying to recover, Yvonne explained, “Well, I mean—any girl would be happy to see such a good-looking guy like you in a shirt like that.”

When people get flustered, they find ways to look busy.

She hurried to pour herself a glass of water, gulping it down as if her life depended on it.

“Drinking like that—you must really like it,” Marico teased, swirling his coffee with a hint of mischief.

Yvonne nearly choked on her last sip. “No, I meant I like the shirt!”

“But you bought it for me, didn’t you?” Marico’s voice was smooth and unhurried.

Yvonne, usually so composed, felt a note of panic as if her intentions were being misunderstood. “Yes, but—”

“But what? There’s no shame in liking me,” he said, unable to resist teasing her.

Her face flushed even deeper, the sparkle in her eyes giving way to something softer. She gave up trying to explain.

“It’s your birthday today. You get to be right about everything,” she huffed.

This man was far too sly—he’d completely tied her in knots.
