She opened her arms, and closed her eyes slowly, her face carrying a faint smile, feeling the gentle breeze on her cheeks, giving a sensation of indescribable comfort.

Lambert stood behind her, watching the golden sunlight gently landing on Ariana's beautiful face, her soft face with closed eyes, carrying a different kind of beauty.

"Ari." Lambert softly called.

"Hmm?" Ariana let out a puzzled sound and turned her head to look at Lambert.

Ariana looked at the man who suddenly called her name with some confusion, his handsome and indifferent face showed no expression.

With a stretch of his long arm, Ariana felt herself fall into a warm embrace.

"The mountain wind is chilly, and it's about mealtime. You must be getting hungry." His light voice rang into Ariana's ears.

That gentle voice was unlike his usual tone, it seeped through her ears and into Ariana's heart, stirring her increasingly erratic heartbeat.

Recalling how Lambert had spoken to her in the same way the previous night, Ariana felt her cheeks getting hot again.

"Mm." She pushed away from his warm chest and distanced herself abruptly, almost like she was running away.

Lambert watched the retreating figure, a faint smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

She had cooled down a bit from the walk.

"By the way, is that your boyfriend?" asked the landlady, utterly awed by Lambert standing behind Ariana.

Smiling faintly, Ariana responded, "No, he's not…"

"Oh dear, don't be shy. Look at him, he's been watching you the whole time. This young man seems quite spirited. From how he looks at you, you can tell he is trustworthy. Little girl, seize the opportunity." The landlady said winked at Ariana.

"Madam, please stop joking around. Could you whip up a few dishes for us? We'll grill some skewers ourselves later," Ariana said, afraid of what the landlady might say in front of Lambert.

"Ah, you want some privacy, don't you? Alright, I won't be the third wheel. Enjoy yourselves," replied the landlady with a laugh, then went to prepare their order.
