By the time Ariana was heading to the washroom angrily to wash her hands, two hours had already passed.
She looked at her radiant face in the mirror, her hands feeling sore, she thought such matters were truly torments to women.
As for Lambert's overbearing behavior earlier, she was rather embarrassed and angry.
Indeed, she should not have indulged Lambert. This man loved to take a mile if given an inch.
When she came out after washing her hands, she saw Lambert sitting on the bed, looking triumphant. It only flared up her anger more.
Upon seeing Ariana angry again, Lambert raised an eyebrow slightly and jokingly commented, "Isn’t this kind of thing just a normal part of married life? Why are you reacting so strongly?"
Hearing this, the flush on Ariana's face cooled down instantly. She found Lambert extremely annoying.
"Normal? Does Mr. Stone think we are a normal couple?"
The expression on Lambert's face changed slightly, and at this moment, Ariana's phone suddenly rang.
Seeing that it was a call from Griffin, she paused momentarily, then answered the phone.
"Senior? What happened?"
Lambert's brow furrowed slightly upon hearing that Griffin was calling.
After Griffin connected the call, his tone was caring as he asked, "I heard that Mr. Stone had an accident. I wanted to ensure you were okay, so I called specially."
He only found out about it today from the news, hence he called to ask about it.
Ariana knew that Griffin truly cared for her. She smiled and responded, "I'm fine, thank you for your concern, Senior."
Griffin chuckled, "I've been away from school for quite a while. You might want to change how you address me. Always calling me 'senior' sounds a bit odd."
"What should I call you then?" Ariana also felt this was somewhat improper, yet she didn't know how she should address Griffin now.
The person on the phone pondered for a while then gently suggested, "How about you just call me by my name?"
"By your name? But..." Ariana felt somewhat uncomfortable with that idea.
Griffin raised an eyebrow, "Are you worried your husband might misunderstand?"
Hearing that, Ariana subconsciously glanced at her husband, Lambert, who was watching her. His face was calm, and he didn’t look like he would misconstrue anything.
She spoke lightly, "Why would he? From now on, I'll call you by your name!"
Griffin spoke, "That's better then! You must be pretty busy so I won't disturb you any longer!"
"Okay!" Ariana responded.
After hanging up the call, Lambert casually remarked, "Indeed, he is a very considerate 'senior'."
Sensing a hint of displeasure in his tone, Ariana raised her brow, "Didn't you say you won't mind?"
Lambert, leaning against the bed, asked, "So, do you prefer that I mind, or don't?"
Seeing his irritated look, she quickly changed the subject, "I'm going downstairs to ask for some light dishes."
After today’s incident, it was inevitable that they would have separate dinners to avoid weird tension.
As she descended the stairs, she saw Jolene sitting alone on the stone bench in the open-air garden on the second floor. From behind, she seemed somewhat desolate.
Ariana thought about everything that had happened these days. As a mother, Jolene must have been the most frightened one, so she couldn't help but approach.
Jolene noticed the sound of footsteps and quickly wiped the tears off her face. Turning around and seeing Ariana, she was somewhat surprised.
