Suddenly, Lambert's hand reached out from under the quilt. Just as Ariana thought Lambert was about to do something to her, his hand gently landed on her knee and started rubbing it.
The warmth of his palm caused Ariana's knees to feel numb, flushing with embarrassment, she nestled against Lambert.
The next day, around five in the morning while there was barely light, Ariana hurriedly got up and left the house while everyone was still sleeping. The reason she had not completed her kneeling punishment yesterday was due to Lambert; letting him face the scolding was enough, she had important things to do.
City X was not far from City A. After requesting a leave from school, Ariana followed the memories of her past life and drove herself to find "Wheelchair."
Ariana made a sudden visit, and admittedly, she wasn't entirely sure what she was doing.
What made her hesitant was that although in her previous life, Wheelchair was a major tech geek, presently he was just a twenty-something-year-old shy homebody, who would turn beet red at a conversation with a girl.
Ariana met "Wheelchair" in her previous life due to an accident. At that time, Wheelchair was also gradually becoming acquainted with the outside world like a normal person.
Ariana found the old house where "Wheelchair" used to live in her past life. To her surprise, his current situation was much harder than she had imagined.
When she inquired from the neighbors, she learned that "Wheelchair," due to his disability, and having no family to take care of him, and detesting going outside, made people feel uneasy. He never bothered to talk to anyone and preferred to go outside only at night.
Ariana knocked on Wheelchair's front door and waited for quite some time, but no one came to open it.
Feeling a bit helpless, she knew that at this time, "Wheelchair" was quite introverted. If she knocked abruptly, it would most likely be ignored.
After a while, she suddenly remembered that "Wheelchair" was fond of cats in her previous life. After contemplating for a while, she quickly went to a nearby pet shop, bought a kitten, and attached a note to it.
A few moments later, a man with messy hair and loosely hanging fringe obstructing his eyes, revealing only a pallid face, came out.
At first sight, one might be shocked, but looking at his figure, it was still somewhat discernible that "Wheelchair" was a man in his early twenties.
He grimly opened the door and was startled to see a beautiful woman standing at the door, so much so that he immediately tried to retreat back and shut the door.
With a quick movement, Ariana reached forward. Seeing a pair of slender, attractive hands reach out, the man in the wheelchair retreated hastily, stuttering as he asked, "Wh...who exactly are you?"
After she entered the room successfully, she looked at her nearly pinched hand and heaved a sigh of relief. Seeing the wheelchair-bound man staring fearfully at her, clutching the kitten she had just brought, she curled her lips and asked, "So, do you like it?"
The man in the wheelchair was still angry about the situation. He impulsively wanted to talk it out with Ariana, but on seeing her refined face, he recoiled in fear.
"Yo...you...take it...take it away!"
Looking at him carefully cradling the kitten, she asked playfully, "Didn't you always want one?"
Much to his surprise, how would a stranger know his desires? "Ho...how...do you...know?"
Remembering those who had asked him for sinister favors, he asked somewhat angrily, "Are...are you also wanting me...me to...do ...do something awful for you? So...you...you...bring the cat...to tempt me?"
Ariana hesitated for a moment. Knowing how much the man in the wheelchair detested being manipulated into someone's bad intentions, she quickly clarified, "No! No! I knew you liked it, and you seemed indecisive about getting one. That's why I brought the kitten."
She remembered from her past life that the man in the wheelchair yearned to raise a pet, perhaps out of loneliness.
Then she cheered him up and brought a kitten on his birthday, and he was actually quite delighted then.
